Escape Hunt PLC (LON:ESC) has opened its first UK owner-operated site in Bristol, with two others in Birmingham and Leeds scheduled to open later this month, although a rebranding exercise had resulted to delays to its opening programme.
The AIM-listed entertainment company said that it also plans to open another five UK sites in the coming months, and has acquired a site in Bournemouth from a competitor in December.
Escape Hunt added that following a strategic review of the marketplace it had decided to implement a rebranding of the business, a decision that it said had resulted in consequential delays to its opening programme.
However, the company - which offers "escape the room" adventures to the public and corporate clients - said that the strategic work and shift in its site opening plan was worthwhile and would lead to enhanced longer-term benefits.
In early trading, Escape Hunt shares - which floated at 135p each in May 2017, were steady at 113.5p.
