Next Fifteen moves into voice-activated marketing with Brandwidth acquisition

Next 15 Communications Group PLC (LON:NFC)  has acquired Brandwidth Group, a UK based voice interface specialist for an initial £6.2mln in cash and shares.

Tim Dyson, Next 15’s chief executive, said: “We see voice, through platforms such as Google Home and Amazon's Alexa, as a highly disruptive form of marketing.

“Brandwidth is a great addition to Next 15. It brings significant digital skills to the group, in particular we are excited to be able to offer clients its capabilities around the use of voice.

Brandwidth reported adjusted net revenues of £7.3mln to last June and adjusted profit before tax of £1.9mln. Clients include Toyota, Royal Caribbean, Citroen, Kia and Vodafone.

Phil Goodman and Jason Jones, its joint chief executives, and chairman, Andrew Strange, are staying with the business.

Jones said Brandwidth and Next 15 have a strong alignment and the combination will speed up delivery of next-generation digital interfaces.

Next 15 will pay a deferred consideration dependent on Brandwidth’s performance up to a maximum total consideration of £10.3mln.

The acquisition is expected to be earnings enhancing for Next 15 in the year to 31 January 2019.
