Tekcapital's augmented reality company Lucyd to close token sale next month

App developers are looking to shift on to glasses

Tekcapital PLC‘s (LON:TEK) augmented reality portfolio company Lucyd Ltd has reached the minimum subscription level for its token sale.

Lucyd pte, a subsidiary of Lucyd Ltd, has sold US$1.5m of Lucyd tokens and the token event will now complete on or before February 28.The token event had a target of US$10mln.

Tekcapital set up Lucyd last year commercialise a portfolio of 13 optical technology patents licensed from from the University of Central Florida.

The patents are the basis of ergonomic, augmented reality or AR 'smartglasses' that enable the user to add a layer of information on to where they are looking and are seen as the next generation of app development.

Lucyd pte ltd has already partnered with nine companies to develop its AR range and also security software for the smartglasses being developed.
