Eye-tracking and facial recognition specialist Seeing Machines Limited (LON:SEE) has teamed up with Dubai-based carrier Emirates to try and improve safety in the airline industry.

Seeing will use its gaze-tracking technology to analyse how pilots interact and monitor their controls whilst flying in Emirates flight simulators.

The data generated is then processed and fed back to the airline, which Seeing said would lead to better training and safer operations.

The AIM-quoted company added that the partnership will also help it to leverage its finding across other industries.

"We have been working closely with Emirates for the past two years and I am delighted to have the opportunity to integrate our state-of-the-art technology into this world class airline, with its outstanding reputation for safety and innovation,” said Seeing GM Aviation Patrick Nolan.

“Working with Emirates in this partnership will assist in the development of a Seeing Machines solution that not only supports Emirates, but the aviation industry more broadly.”

The data from the study will be presented at the annual International Safety Summit in Dublin later this week.
