Sunrise Resources Plc (LON:SRES) has discovered a potential new perlite/pozzolan deposit in Nevada.
Refining the techniques used idenify the CS pozzolan/ perlite deposit, Sunrise has identified a new conical outcrop of glassy volcanic rock having a base diameter of approximately 400m and a height of up to 45m above the surrounding plain, suggesting good tonnage potential.

Tests have already indicted perlite while it is now being tested for pozzolan. Mining claims have been submitted with the prospect to be named NewPerl.
Patrick Cheetham, Sunrise’s executive chairman, said: “The perlite discovery made as a result of in-house proprietary exploration techniques which, I believe, give us a competitive edge in exploration for these types of deposit."
Pozzolan from the CS project, meanwhile, has passed another batch of strength tests.
Samples from the Tuff Zone improved upon the strength against index (SAI) test result over 28 days compared to the previous 7-day results.

That is consistent with the performance of high quality natural pozzolan, Sunrise said.
SAI results from Main Zone samples also exceeded the 28 day strength requirements after only 7 days curing, while the majority of samples met the 28-day test.
Sample from the NE Zone were also consistent with high quality natural pozzolan.
Perlite expansion testing has now been completed on the Main Zone deposit,
Cheetham added: “To date virtually every sample we have tested across a very wide area has met the key ASTM requirements for pozzolanic activity (chemical composition) and strength.
“We are now moving to a more advanced stage of pozzolan and perlite testing which we expect will help us narrow down the initial mining areas. "
