88 Energy continues to flow frack fluid and now gas

88 Energy intends to make a decision on its next plans for the Icewine-2 well

Hyrdorcarbon flow rates to date are not 'representative'

88 Energy Ltd (LON:88E) confirmed that frack fluid continues to flow back from the Icewine-2 well in Alaska, and hydrocarbons are now flowing too.

It is flowing around 55 barrels of frack fluid per day and 2-4 thousand cubic feet of gas, with a maximum rate of 8 thousand cubic feet per day.

The company said the programme remains in the early stages and that the minor gas flows are not believed to be representative of the potential rate or composition of hydrocarbon in the reservoir.

More frack fluid will need to be removed for the well to achieve a representative result, 88 Energy said, and it added that a decision will be made on the most appropriate forward strategy within the next couple of weeks.
