Frank Fenne, a mining veteran with over thirty years experience in global projects including major mine builds in Nevada and Australia has been recruited as head of geology, while Davron Vakhabov, a heap leach pad specialist, joins from Lydian, the developer of the Amulsar project in Armenia.
At Tulkubash itself, 2,000m out of a planned 11,000m has been drilled so far this season, while 60% of the land required for the mine and its infrastructure has been leased until 2032.
Tulkubash requires the submission of a Technical Project document by 31 December 2018, which will contain a detailed plan for development of the deposit and will be submitted with the environmental impact assessment (OVOS).
Chaarat said it had received a positive expert evaluation on its OVOS.
Martin Andersson, chairman, said: “Whilst I do not wish to underestimate the challenges of meeting our ambitious timeline to production, I am encouraged that the project is progressing on schedule and the management team has been further strengthened."
