Action Hotels' largest hotel gets 4-star rating down under

Hotel developer Action Hotels PLC (LON:AHCG) is going up in the world down under.

The largest hotel in its portfolio - the 367-room ibis Styles in Brisbane - opened in March last year, has received a 4-star rating from Star Ratings Australia.

This will strengthen the hotel's value proposition and help to attract more group conference and events business, the firm said.

Chief executive Alain Debare told investors: "We are very pleased that ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street has been granted a 4-star rating.

"This rating affirms the hotel's premium economy positioning and will support competitive average rates and improved RevPAR."

The City centre hotel achieved a  score of over 99% for cleanliness and presentation and a superior rating for facilities and services.

Action owns and manages three and four star hotels in the Middle East and Australia. It currently has 12 completed hotels with 2,181 rooms  across the Middle East and Australia, with further properties in development in both regions.

Last month, it opened the Mercure Sohar in Oman - the group's third property in the country.
