The pest control group said it had a “very successful” Olympics

Rentokil Initial Plc (LON:RTO) told investors revenues from ongoing operations rose 16.6% in the third quarter to £576.7mln.

It said the majority of its markets performed well though conditions remained tough in Europe, particularly France.

The company noted that it had a “very successful” Olympics, as it was a partner of the Rio de Janeiro health authorities, providing pest control and innovative mosquito elimination.

"I am pleased with our performance in the third quarter,” said chief exeuctive Andy Ransom.

“Pest Control grew organically by almost 6%, reflecting good performances in Asia, Pacific, Latin America, the UK and our key growth market of North America.

“I am also encouraged by ongoing traction in our Hygiene business which delivered organic growth of 3.2%.”
