Daniel Stewart looks ahead to Nighthawk Energy’s development events

19th Mar 2010, 1:04 pm Daniel Stewart looks ahead to Nighthawk Energy’s development events

In a note on Nighthawk Energy (AIM: HAWK), London-based stockbroker Daniel Stewart highlighted a series of events in Nighthawk’s development, expected over the coming months. The first will be the interims, followed by other events, which in Daniel Stewart’s opinion, will go a long way to de-risking the company’s Jolly Ranch project in the US.

The broker expects the interims to be more of a calendar event than an operational and production event, with most of the information being financial. Nighthawk released an update on 23 February, and it has made several analyst and investor presentations recently.

Nighthawk is currently working on completions and early stage production. Daniel Stewart said that revenue from wells on test, will not be Nighthawk’s only driver for creating shareholder value.

The stockbroker noted that some of Nighthawk’s key drivers of value creation will be proving the resource through completions, identifying optimum drilling locations via the evaluation of seismic data, future drilling and more production.

Daniel Stewart highlighted potential near term catalysts including announcements regarding the pace of completions from the 13 previously drilled wells, average production rates and other production data. The broker also indentified medium-term catalysts relating to production targets and third-party studies by Schlumberger.
