Medicsight promotes CFO Troy Robinson to board position
Medicsight PLC (AIM: MDST), specialised in Computer-Aided Detection (CAD) and image analysis software which assists in the early detection and diagnosis of disease, said it appointed Troy Robinson to the board as chief financial officer and company secretary with immediate effect.
Robinson joined Medicsight in February 2007 as group financial controller after a successful career with IVAX Pharmaceuticals and HP Foods. He was appointed CFO in February 2009, as a non board position.
During his tenure with Medicsight, he has played a pivotal role in both the Medicsight IPO and the subsequent global expansion of the finance function, the group said in a statement.
Medicsight’s CAD software automatically highlights suspicious areas on computerised tomography (CT) scans of the colon and lung, helping radiologists to identify, measure and analyse potential disease and early indicators of disease.
Its software has been developed using one of the world's largest and most population diverse databases of verified patient CT scan data. Medicsight's ColonCAD and LungCAD software products are integrated with the advanced 3D visualisation workstations of several major imaging equipment partners.
Medicsight currently has a pre-market notification for the ColonCAD API 3.1 product pending with the US Food and Drug Administration and is working towards fulfilling the regulator’s request for additional information prior to the 21 June 2010 deadline.
