Morning news wrap: G4S, Aurelian Oil & Gas, JKX, Gazprom, Synchronica
In the FTSE 100, security services group G4S (LSE: GFS) reported on its full year results, saying that group turnover rose 7.4% to £7 billion, while earnings per share were up 22% to 20.2 pence.
In AIM, Lesotho operating diamond miner Kopane Diamond Developments (AIM: KDD) released its interim report for the six months to 31 December 2009, saying that indicated resources soared 141% to 38.5 Mt (million tonnes), while net losses for the period narrowed to £1.2 million from £3.1 million in H1 2008.
African focused nickel and gold exploration and development junior Nyota Minerals (ASX&AIM: NYO) said pre-tax losses narrowed to US$1.8 million in H1 2009 from US$22.8 million a year ago.
Eastern Europe focused junior Aurelian Oil & Gas (AIM: AUL) said Sorgenia exercised its farm-in option to drill in B1- Goliza in Bulgaria, while the company was awarded a new prospective exploration licence, Provadia, with JV (joint venture) company controlled by Gazprom that will carry Aurelian and JKX (LSE: JKX) for no less than €4 million of the minimum work programme.
Mobile email and data synchronisation group Synchronica (AIM: SYNC) has landed a US$203,000 order for MessagePhone from a Latin American operator.
IP commercialisation company Amphion Innovations (AIM: AMP) said full year revenues increased by 22% to US $8.6 million in 2009, while operating loss narrowed to US$892,937 from US$3.4 million.
