eSports promoter Gfinity (LON:GFIN) is to host the finals of the Vainglory Winter Championships.
California-based Super Evil Megacorp, developer of multiplayer online battle arena game Vainglory, will hold its championship at the Gfinity Arena in London.
It will be the first competition held at the venue played entirely on mobile devices.
Finalists from across Europe will compete for a prize pool of $25,000.
"We are delighted to be working with Super Evil Megacorp,” said chief executive Neville Upton.
“The success of Vainglory is evidence of increasing popularity of eSports amongst the touchscreen generation.”
The multiplayer mobile game Vainglory was launched in 2014 and has since received a number of awards, including the Apple Design Award in 2015.
Gfinity works with games publishers to organise and host online gaming tournaments.
The global eSports market is worth around $750mln and tipped to be worth $1.9bln by 2018.
Shares in Gfinity were flat 14.38p.
