DotDigital (LON:DOTD) has won a prestigious new accolade from a major retail technology supplier.
E-commerce technology business Magento Commerce has chosen DotDigital to be one of only two holders of its platinum partner status.
The new initiative from Magento, which has some 240,000 customers worldwide, is aimed at strengthening its relationships with sector leaders.
Magento has chosen PayPal and dotDigital to help it to address the two main concerns from merchants when using the web, payments and marketing.
Magento, formerly part of online e-commerce giant eBay, is the most dominant technology provider to the Internet retailer top 1000, with more than double the amount of clients compared to its next biggest rival.
It was officially spun-off earlier this month and is now backed by private investment firm Permira.
The company helps retailers integrate their digital and physical selling capabilities, providing digital technology to some of the world’s largest merchants.
DotDigital is the only email and multi-channel marketing company given the platinum status, which N+1 Singer said is a “significant endorsement of the group’s capabilities”.
Dotmailer, the company’s email platform, gives companies the ability to email millions of customers at a time, and has been the marketing application of choice for customers of Magento’s open commerce platform since 2013.
The email service allows companies to gather and use customer data to increase sales.
Simone Barratt, chief executive of dotDigital, said: “We believe this enhanced relationship will provide greater opportunities for Dotmailer particularly as part of our international growth strategy.”
N+1 Singer agrees, adding that Magento’s 240,000 clients are a “tremendous pool of opportunity for dotDigital, supporting its growth ambitions."
