DekelOil’s (LON:DKL) has won a new City fan in the form of the small-cap specialist Miton Group, run by top stock-picker Gervais Williams, which has taken a 3.35% stake in the palm oil specialist.

Williams’ focus is on high-growth companies that pay a dividend. While Dekel isn’t yet at the stage it is making a payout, its management would argue it is definitely the former.

It owns 51% of and operates the Ayenouan plant in Côte d'Ivoire and has ambitious plans to build its footprint locally as well expand into Ghana.

It is an approved supplier to a World Bank-backed palm oil project, while financially it is gaining muscle, having seen an eight-fold increase in its operating profits to €2.3mln in the first half.

Director Lincoln Moore said "We are delighted to welcome Miton Group, the leading fund manager, to our shareholder register.

“We view this as an endorsement of the excellent progress we have made to date at our integrated Ayenouan palm oil project in Côte d'Ivoire.”
