Gatwick airport chooses Servision to protect its vehicles

Mobile security surveillance firm Servision (LON:SEV) is to provide its technology at Gatwick airport - the UK's second busiest -  as it also updated on its UK expansion plans.

Gatwick has placed an initial purchase order of around £20,000 for the group's live mobile CCTV systems - MGV400s on 12 vehicles -  and monthly data services. the tech firm reported.

The airport has a vehicle fleet size of around 300.

It is the first order for  Servision's new UK-based management team. The company is planning to open a UK office in Manchester soon.

In addition, the group has hired experienced Gary Higham as managing director of Servision -  a non-board position.

He gas two decades' experience in the security and fleet management industry with extensive experience rolling out integrated solutions and recurring revenue business models with blue chip clients in the UK.

Servision chairman and chief executive Gideon Tahan said: "I am extremely pleased that Gatwick Airport has formally approved Servision as an official supplier and chosen our unique solutions to enhance its operations.

"Additionally I am confident that having a direct presence in the UK will facilitate sustained growth and many new opportunities going forward."

At the end of June, the firm said it made a net profit in the second half of last year on the back of improved revenues.

Revenue in 2014 rose 20% to US$4.24mln from US$3.51mln the year before, reflecting a number of new distribution and partnership agreements signed.

Revenues for the second half of 2014 were US$2.39mln compared to US$1.84mln the year before.

Servision has created a ground-breaking system that allows closed-circuit television (CCTV) to be streamed directly and live from moving vehicles, and the technology is being adopted is places as diverse as Kazakhstan, Israel, Brazil, USA, Canada and the Netherlands.

The group also co-operates with a number of fleet and driver management solution providers to integrate its protocol into its partners’ platforms.

Based on the demand from these companies' existing customers, Servision is highly optimistic that offering a fully integrated fleet/driver management and video platform will play a major role in driving Servision's future sales.
