Golden Goliath Resources

Golden Goliath Resources Ltd. is a junior exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (symbol GNG). The Company is focused on exploring and developing the gold and silver potential of an historic mining camp located in the world famous Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains of northwestern Mexico. Unlike most juniors, which have an option to earn an interest in a single property or a few scattered properties in various areas or countries, Golden Goliath controls an entire old mining camp, or district, that covers an area of 15 by 25 kilometres, with numerous past producing gold and silver mines dating back to the time of the Spaniards. Golden Goliath’s Uruachic claims are owned 100% by the Company and are fully paid for with no property option or purchase payments to make.

Golden Goliath extends gold and silver zone of Los Hilos ridge at Las Bolas, Mexico

company news image

Golden Goliath Resources (TSX-V: GNG) has announced an extension of its recently sampled gold and silver zone within the Mosca de Plata workings on the Los Hilos ridge, which was disclosed late last month.

The phase 2 sampling programme included both surface and the levels above the Mosca de Plata tunnel and averaged 0.70 g/t (grammes per tonne) gold and 153 g/t silver over 46 metres. Higher grade numbers were found at the intersection of a roughly north south trending mineralised zone called Filo de Oro, which runs along the Los Hilos ridge. 79 surface samples there returned an average of 0.82 g/t gold and 40 g/t silver. The company highlighted sampling results from a 1.5 metre wide vein exposed over 40 metres, which returned average grades of 10.2 g/t gold and 257 g/t silver at one location, while 18 chip samples across the structure averaged 1.56 g/t gold and 77 g/t silver.

The company said the new target expanded the overall potential of the property, indicating the Filo de Oro target zone is wider than previously thought.

The Los Hilos ridge, which lies on the eastern side of the Las Bolas property in Mexico, is 1,400 metres long, 200 to 400 metres wide and up to 175 metres high, running roughly perpendicular to the three main Las Bolas mineralisation trends.

Several old workings over a vertical interval of 105 metres have been identified within the ridge, including the gold and silver target zone Filo de Oro, which has been traced over 400 metres and is open in both directions.

According to the current sampling and mapping, the Mosca de Plata tunnel and its two sub levels have a strike length of 46 metres. The exploration crew has been rehabilitating other levels above the main tunnel, and also rehabilitated parts of the main tunnel not previously sampled.
