Victorian-based Circadian Technologies (ASX: CIR) a developer of novel, biological-based treatments for cancer has advised that Robert Klupacs, CEO and Managing Director will be presenting at Merriman Curhan Ford’s 6th annual Investor Summit in New York City on November 10, 2009.

The Merriam Curhan Ford conference is usually attended by hundreds of institutional investors.

Ciradian is developing antibody therapies to treat cancer - a major global opportunity for the Australian listed company.

The company has established partner programs with leading international players in their fields including:

- ImClone Systems Inc (recently acquired by Eli Lilly & Co) (NYSE:LLY) – developing anticancer drug (out-licensed)
- Healthscope Limited (ASX:HSP) – developing cancer diagnostic test (out-licensed)
- Teva Biopharmaceuticals (USA) – VEGF-C IP (in-licensed)

CIR has an increasing number of revenue generating research reagent partnerships:

IP Position

Circadian has a dominant and protected Intellectual Property (IP) position. The company has granted IP rights in major territories to VEGF-C/D proteins and VEGFR-3 and blockers, with applications in cancer and certain other diseases.  IP rights over product candidates extend beyond 2020.  Further strategic IP filings are being made to extend patent life.  The company has over 500 granted and pending patents worldwide 

The company has an inherent strong drug development expertise and management.  CEO Robert Klupacs has over 22 years biotech experience. Extensive history of industry deals including Sanofi, Baxter, Aventis, Pharmacia, Novartis, Alexion and Pfizer.

Strong financial position

Intriguingly for investors, Circadian has cash holdings of $35.5m, also owns listed investments worth $9.5m.  Issued capital is only 46.39m shares on issue.  Yet, market capitalisation is only $33m - on a share price of $0.71.
