Strategic metals explorer Largo Resources (CVE:LGO) said Monday it has received final governmental approval for the start of construction at the Maracas vanadium project in Brazil. Shares were up 15.38 percent to close at 30 cents on Monday.

Apella Resources (CVE:APA) (OTCQX:APAFF) said Monday that it has acquired a "game-changing" vanadium-iron-titanium discovery near Timmins, Ontario. The company said the purchase was made after its geology team assessed the merits of the property for the potential to mirror Apella's existing Lac Dore, Lac Dore North and Iron-T deposits.

Riverside Resources (CVE:RRI) and its partner, Sierra Madre Developments (CVE:SMG), announced Monday positive drill results from the Main Zone of the El Capitan target on their Penoles project in Durango, Mexico.
Best results from the 18-hole program include 1.69 g/t gold over 33.5 metres, 2.41 g/t gold over 8.1 metres, and 3.1 g/t gold over 4.2 metres, each in a wider interval of 88.4 metres grading 0.82 g/t gold, in hole CDDH-11-17.

Riverstone Resources (CVE:RVS) received positive commentary from David Coffin and Erin Coffin's HRA Advisories Hard Rock Analyst journal this month. Riverstone reached an agreement with Roxgold Resources (CVE:ROG) that allows Roxgold to consolidate the project interests it is earning from Riverstone, and in turn, allows Riverstone to immediately monetize its retained interest in those projects, the report said.

Montero Mining and Exploration (CVE:MON) filed Monday on SEDAR its NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate for the Wigu Hill rare earth project in Tanzania, announced in September. A total inferred mineral resource of 3.3 million tonnes at 2.6% LREO5 (Light Rare Earth Oxide) was estimated, with a higher-grade portion of 510,000 tonnes averaging 4.4% LREO5.

Woulfe Mining Corp. (CVE:WOF)(OTCQX:WFEMF) said Monday that it has received an explosive license for the development of its Sangdong tungsten-molybdenum project in South Korea, as well as announcing other major steps forward, pushing shares up.

Uranium explorer Fission Energy (CVE:FIS) said Monday that a field trenching program is underway at the Patterson Lake South Property, Saskatchewan. The company and its 50:50 joint venture partner, ESO Uranium (CVE:ESO), have budgeted $800,000 for the current program, which focuses primarily on surface trenching and geophysics, to be later followed by drilling.

Fission said the work will identify the bedrock source of the large 5 kilometre by 0.9 kilometre high grade uranium boulder field, which recently returned assays as high as 39.6% uranium.
