NQ Exploration (CVE:NQE) announced Tuesday the results of a fifth drill hole from its Carheil project in Quebec, confirming the continuity of mineralization towards the surface, and a sustained high silver content.

Hole CA2011-14, part of the winter drilling program at the Ag1 zone, returned up to 499 g/t silver over 1 metre, said the company, at 335 metres vertical depth. The results for the three last holes of the program are expected later this month.

NQ said this fifth hole confirms the presence of several high-grade silver zones, as well as the size of the mineralized zone, which exceeds 110 metres true width.

Prior to the drilling campaign, the company was focused on exploring the mineral potential at depth, but recent results are indicating that the zones extend towards the surface.

To date, the best hole from the Ag1 zone is CA2009-05, which returned 524 g/t silver over 10.5 metres at a vertical depth of 400 metres.

Hole CA2011-14 intersected the same zone some 75 metres above this intersection, returning an average grade of 231.7 g/t silver and 0.87% zinc over 7.0 metres, within a larger zone grading 104.7 g/t silver and 0.62% zinc over 21.7 metres.

The most recent hole also intercepted other zones, including OrAg1, with a best result of 4.05 g/t gold, 76.0 g/t silver and 4.44% zinc over 0.7 metres.

Quebec-based NQ has a portfolio of 11 mining properties in the James Bay and Abitibi regions of the province.
