Goals Soccer scores with second half recovery

A second half trading recovery sent five-a-side football pitches operator Goal Soccer Centres PLC (LON:GOAL) to the top of movers league.

Like-for-like (LFL) sales grew 2.9% in the second half of last year after a first half dip, while rising by 1.6% over the year to £33.5mln from £33.9mln in 2015.

Profits eased lower, but the momentum was enough to send the shares climbing by a very handy 14% to 108.2p.

Orogen Gold PLC (LON:ORE) is giving up mining and will be become a refinanced cash shell.

A placing and open offer at 0.006p will raise up to £3.5mln to fund the change of direction, while the existing board is stepping down to be replaced by financiers

Steven Metcalfe and Mark Collingbourne, who is also currently finance director of React Group Plc and chief finance officer of Optibiotix Health PLC.

A capital reorganisation will see the shares consolidated on a 250-into-one basis. Shares fell 32% to 0.01p.

 

2pm...FlowGroup fired up by boiler arm sale possibility

FlowGroup PLC (LON:FLOW) climbed  42% as it revealed it had selected a preferred bidder for its Flow Energy microCHP boiler business arm and entered into an exclusivity agreement.

There is still a possibility that the deal may not conclude, but investors were confident enough to send the shares up 42% to 5.5p.

Versarien PLC (LON:VRS) got a boost as it reported Cambridge Graphene, which it acquired in January, has started to produce graphene for customers in sample quantities.

Further testing and commissioning of capital equipment is ongoing to enable a further scaling up of its graphene manufacturing capability, said Versarien. Shares rose 11% to 20.6p and have doubled since it launched its graphene brand, Nanene, in February.

Bahamas Petroleum Company Plc (LON:BPC) climbed on an extension to its licence obligations, as it continues to work towards a new funding deal.

The explorer landed a three-year licence extension from the Bahamian authorities back in June 2015, though that arrangement required the commencement of work obligations by April 2017.

It has now been agreed that the deadline for the licence obligations will be extended by twelve months, therefore BPC has until April 2018 to start work. Shares rose 7% to 1.36p.

9.15am...MySquar boosted by payments deal with telecoms giant

MySQUAR Limited (LON:MYSQ) has made it easier for Telenor Myanmar customers to purchase apps and make in-game purchases when using the MySQUAR social media platform.

Market makers have been struggling with this announcement, with the shares rising to 1.72p at one point from 1.52p overnight, before ebbing to 1.50p. They are now up 1.8% at 1.55p.

Alliance Pharma plc (LON:APH) climbed 4.8% to 49.25p as it reached an agreement with Sinclair Pharma PLC (LON:SPH) that will see it receive some £5mln of compensation, relating to the material reduction of business for the Kelo-stretch product.

The share price of Goal Soccer Centres PLC (LON:GOAL) was on the cusp of reaching three integers, rising 4.7% to 99.5p on the back of results for 2016. The footie pitches operator returned to profit and said its new strategy is on track.

The EURATOM Supply Agency, the governing body for all nuclear fuel, said: "We particularly welcome the emergence and development of a new EU based uranium mining project and believe that it will contribute to the security of supply of natural uranium for the community users."

88 Energy Ltd (LON:88E) has confirmed that ground operations are now underway for the Icewine-2 shale gas well, which is set for an April spudding.

Alliance Pharma plc (LON:APH) announced it is to receive £5mln of compensation from Sinclair Pharma Plc (LON:SPH) after a skincare drug acquired in 2015 fell short of sales expectations. The company also receives rights to another skincare product as part of the new deal too.
