Wednesday sees a veritable clutch of results statements from some big guns, including broadcaster Sky (LON:SKY) and drugs giant Glaxo (LON:GSK).

Among other runners and riders on the track, which investors will be looking out for are Mitchells and Butler (LON:MAB) and Foxtons (LON:FOXT).

Never far from headlines, Sky was perhaps most significantly in the news recently for calling for a full competition inquiry into rival BT’s (LON:BT.A) domination of the UK's broadband network as the heat between the pair stepped up.

How the broadband business is bearing up will be of interest on Wednesday.

Swiss broker UBS expects Sky to report 'solid' 2015 results and has lifted the target on the stock by 100p to 1,300p.

"Geographically, we expect UK to grow at +6%, Germany +9% and Italy -2% on an underlying basis for the FY – similar to Q3," the broker said.

The broker also expect strong  PF full year EBITA growth of +17% to £1,386m as Sky benefits from a combination of strong top-line growth and a positive contribution from new initiatives.
