Goldrush Resources hits 6.99 g/t gold over 5.15 metres at Ronguen deposit

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) unveiled Tuesday drill results from the final 11 of 18 core holes drilled as part of a larger 10,140 metre in-fill program at its Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa. The results will be used in an upcoming resource estimate - expected out shortly.

The drilling program also included 98 reverse circulation holes at the deposit.

Notable core hole results reported Tuesday include 6.99 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 5.15 metres in hole KGRC11-049, and 1.71 g/t gold over 9.0 metres, including 4.1 g/t gold over 1.0 metre and 5.89 g/t gold over 1.0 metre in hole KGRC11-047.

In addition, 0.83 g/t gold over 17.5 metres was intersected in hole KGRC11-046, and 4.72 g/t gold was returned over 3.0 metres in hole KGRC11-053.

The 11 core holes reported were collared on the southern margin of the G2 Grid, the westernmost of two overlapping grids on Ronguen. They were designed to test the down dip extension of mineralization previously seen in holes farther north on the same sections, and to provide additional structural information on the deposit.

The company said core hole KGRC11-047 intersected a higher grade and longer interval of the mineralization than previously intersected in reverse circulation holes KGRR11-221 (4 metres of 2.12 g/t gold from 40 to 44 metres) and KGRR11-220 (1 metre of 1.01 g/t gold from 61 to 62 metres).

“These diamond drill hole results are the last drilling data that will be integrated into the Ronguen resource model and will allow our consultants to complete an updated resource estimate for the Ronguen gold deposit within 10 days," said president and CEO, Len Brownlie.

"Going forward, an initial program of trenching and pitting has been designed to follow-up on the potential strike extension of the Ronguen South zone and to seek to confirm to the north of the Ronguen Main zone a potential parallel gold zone that has been identified by a resistivity high anomaly from a gradient induced polarization survey.”

The 11 holes reported today each intersected anomalous gold mineralization defined as at least 1 metre of greater than 0.10 g/t gold. A total of 1,065 metres were drilled in the eleven diamond drill holes, which were sampled using nominal one metre sampling intervals.

Within the entire fall 2011 program, a total of 98 reverse circulation holes for 7,793 metres and 18 core holes for 2,347 metres were completed on the Ronguen gold deposit.

A total of 1,325 linear metres in 13 trenches were also completed, with results to be announced when received. The company said, however, that the trench results will not be able to be included in the "soon-to-be received" resource estimate.

The Ronguen gold deposit is located within the northeastern part of the prospective Birimian age Boromo greenstone belt in Burkina Faso. Gold mineralization is found in both metasedimentary and mafic intrusive rocks.

Separately, the company also noted Tuesday that land surveys and title searches recently conducted by Goldrush after the completion of the 2011 reverse circulation drill program, have revealed that the Ministry of Mines, Quarries and Energy of Burkina Faso inadvertently allowed the company in 2009 to extend the Ouavousse permit partially over a permit that was granted to another party in 2008.

This means, Goldrush said, that a small portion of its Ouavousse permit extension conflicts with the exisiting permit boundary. However, the company said it has received no notice from either the government of Burkina Faso or the other permit holder.

In the 2011 drill program, four of the 30 holes (OUKR11-027 to -030) were drilled in this overlap area. The company therfore cautioned investors that assays from these holes should not be considered in evaluating the prospectivity of the Ouavousse permit.

The company said it has approached the Ministry of Mines and Quarries to rectify the situation, but an outcome to the matter cannot be determined at this time.

In March, the company announced initial drill results from the permit, with notable holes including 8.67 g/t gold over 2 metres in hole OUKR11-001 and 1.07 g/t gold over 4 metres in hole OUKRR11-006.

A program of mapping and soil sampling is currently underway to assist in the delination of additional drill targets."

The Ouavousse permit is immediately west of, and crossed in part, by the interpreted corridor of the Markoye Fault, a major north-northeast trending structural zone.

The Markoye Fault corridor has been traced for more than 400 kilometres in Burkina Faso and lies next to several gold deposits, including Iamgold's (TSE:IMG) Essakane mine, High River Gold's (TSE:HRG) Taparko mine, Volta’s (TSE:VTR) Kiaka gold deposit, and Orezone's (TSE:ORE) Bombore project.

Other notable results from the Ouavousse initial drilling include hole OUKR11-030, which intersected 1.09 g/t gold over 3 metres. The hole is located 650 metres north of Kooligri South.

Previous rock sampling from this Kooligri North site generated a best value of 1.58 g/t gold, while seven samples from Kooligri South returned a high value of 9.77 g/t gold.

The remaining 26 exploration holes of the Ouavousse program, which were drilled on six additional artisanal mining sites, intersected generally short, lower grade sections from areas which had been substantially pitted by artisan miners.

Goldrush is a Canadian mineral exploration company focused on gold exploration in West Africa, where the company has discovered, and is currently expanding and defining the 249,000 ounce inferred resource at the Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso.

Last month, the company reported assay results from six of 18 core holes drilled as part of a 10,140-metre fill-in program on the Ronguen deposit.

Among the highlights of the drilling results, in hole KGRC11-036, the company encountered 6.92 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 8.9 metres, including 12.8 g/t gold over 1.2 metres and 16.3 g/t gold over 1.0 metre; hole KGRC11-041 found 1.90 g/t gold over 12.9 metres and hole KGRC11-040 returned 1.30 g/t gold over 14.2 metres, including 1.99 g/t gold over 7.5 metres and 1.12 g/t gold over 6.2 metres.

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD)(OTCQX:GDRRF) late Tuesday reported assay results from six of 18 core holes drilled as part of a 10,140-metre fill-in program on the company's Ronguen Gold Deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

The Ronguen Gold Deposit is located on the Kongoussi 1 and Tikare permits, which are located only six kilometres northwest of the High River Gold Mines (TSE:HRG) Bissa Deposit.

Goldrush president and CEO, Len Brownlie, said: "We are very excited by the discovery of a new style of high grade gold mineralization at Ronguen.

"The utility of the new geophysical model as a tool to help direct future exploration at Ronguen has been enhanced by its strong correlation with recent favourable drilling results, including the most recent high grade assays noted in hole -036.

"On a recent site visit, we observed successful artisanal mining activity at the hill site two kilometres east of the collar of hole -036 on the newly interpreted strike extension of the South Zone. A program to test this extension will begin in early March as we continue exploration of this very promising gold deposit."

Core hole KGRC11-036 was drilled on line 530E of the South Zone, an interpreted parallel shear zone/thrust fault in the hanging wall of the Main Zone at the Ronguen deposit.

Hole KGRC11-036 is the most southerly and deepest hole drilled on the South Zone and was designed to test the down dip potential of the lower grade gold mineralization encountered in reverse circulation hole KGRR-130 (3.62 g/t gold over 6 metres at a depth of 40.1 metres) and hole KGRR-152 (1.70 g/t gold over 7 metres at a depth of 32.4 metres).

Partial assays from hole -036 have led to the high grade intersection at a vertical depth of 59.6 metres. The gold intercept in hole -036 is open up-hole and Goldrush is awaiting assay results from this portion of the core, it said.

Gold mineralization in hole -036 represents a style of mineralization that had not been recognized at Ronguen, Goldrush said, and is therefore an attractive target for follow-up drilling.

A recent three dimensional modelling of existing data covering the eastern part of the Ronguen gold deposit has revealed four parallel, easterly striking high resistivity anomalies to a depth of 300 metres.

The two central resistivity high bodies are coincident with the gold mineralization found in the Ronguen Main and South zones, while the northern structure has not been drill tested. If further work confirms that the most northern structure is mineralized, then it would present an important new target for exploration at the Ronguen deposit, the company said.

Goldrush confirms follow-up drill targets at Ouavousse, West Africa

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD)(OTCQX:GDRRF) Wednesday confirmed the presence of prospective targets for follow-up exploration at its 44-square kilometre Ouavousse permit in central Burkina Faso, West Africa.

The targets were discovered after recent investigations including mapping, rock sampling and structural interpretation at four previously identified gold-bearing areas at Ouavousse.

A 2,800-metre reverse circulation drilling program was started at Ouavousse on Monday.

Goldrush president and CEO, Len Brownlie, said: "The decision to immediately drill several highly prospective targets on Ouavousse comes as a direct result of recent site visits conducted by Goldrush exploration staff who have collected rock samples with favourable gold values from well established artisanal mining sites.

"On our most recent visit on November 24, we observed over 250 artisanal workers mining gold bearing quartz veins that appear to have significant size potential. This combination of favourable geology, structure and apparent width and strike length have caused us to accelerate exploration of this permit.

"Our exploration team, led by chief geologist John Learn and vice president Driff Cameron have been exceptionally busy and will have organized drill programs totaling 23,000 metres on six Goldrush permits during the fall 2011 drilling campaign. All of these programs will be completed by year-end and assay results from these programs will provide a steady flow of news into the new year."

The Ouavousse permit is immediately west of, and crossed in part, by the interpreted corridor of the Markoye Fault, a major north-northeast trending structural zone and possible Porcupine-Destor Fault analogue, which has been traced for over 400 kilometres in Burkina Faso.

A number of substantial gold deposits, two of which have been brought into production - Taparko in 2007 and Essakane in 2010 - are associated with the Markoye corridor, as are other deposits and occurrences.

Goldrush said that the main Ouavousse and OTR-1 trench areas, where the company encountered 1.58 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 5 metres in 2007, occur immediately adjacent to the Markoye Fault on related oblique structures.

A 300-metre long artisanal mining site has developed within the last two years at the OTR-1 site, as well as two main artisanal site trends of 400 metres (North trend) and 600 metres (South trend), located 700 metres on strike to the southwest.

The total potential strike length of this structure appears to be at least 1,700 metres.

The North trend provided eight grab samples, which ranged as high as 7.13 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold and averaged 3.02 g/t gold. Ten samples from the auriferous South trend gave values ranging from 0.99 to 0.01 g/t gold, averaging 0.39 g Au/t.

In 2009, the Ouavousse permit was extended to the north to include two orpailleur areas. In addition, the Poessin area of four mineralized artisanal mining sites, all with shafts in excess of 30 metres deep, is located approximately seven kilometers northwest of the Ouavousse/Markoye area occurrences.

Goldrush is also currently expanding and defining the 249,000 ounce (inferred resource of 5.9 million tones at a grade of 1.31 g/t gold) Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso.

Wednesday morning, Goldrush shares were flat at $0.13.

The property, adjacent to the eastern border of the Yaramoko permit held by Roxgold (CVE:ROG), rests 185 kilometres west southwest of Ouagadougou.

The 6,500-metre RAB drilling program is a follow-up on the recent discovery of two gold anomalies detected in 400-metre by 200-metre soil sampling, the company said in a statement.

In the southwest corner, and in the northwest to north central area of the permit, soil sampling partly defined two anomalies of more than 13 parts per billion (ppb) gold, which contained 11 anomalous gold values, with individual high values up to 504 ppb.

Goldrush said the southwest anomaly had been traced over a north-south distance of 1,600 metres and an east-west range of 1,400 metres to the Pompoi-Yaramoko permit boundary. The anomalous area is 2.9 kilometres due east of Roxgold's recent Baggasi Central 55 Zone high grade gold discovery, the company said.

According to October news releases from Roxgold, diamond drilling on the 55 Zone intersected strong mineralization, including 53.56 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over eight metres in hole YRM-11-DDH-021.

Further, a single soil sampling assay of 903 ppb gold was found next to the Pompoi-Yaramoko permit boundary, about 700 metres north of Goldrush’s southwest gold-in-soil anomaly.

Meanwhile, the northwest anomaly on Pompoi covers a north-south distance of 2,000 metres and an east-west range of 1,400 metres, and is 2 kilometres east of the Pompoi-Yaramoko permit boundary.

Goldrush, a Vancouver-based mineral explorer, concentrates on gold exploration in West Africa where the company is currently expanding and defining the Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso. The deposit has an inferred resource of 5.9 million tonnes, grading 1.31 grams per tonne of gold.

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) reported Tuesday positive drill results from the second set of 21 reverse circulation (RC) drill holes at its Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso, part of its 94-hole infill drilling program designed to expand resources.

Highlights of the results included 2.16 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 25 metres, and 1.35 g/t gold over six metres, in hole KGRR11-182. Hole KGRR11-183 intersected 2.24 g/t gold over 12 metres, while KGRR11-196 found 2.24 g/t gold over 12 metres.

Other notable results included hole KGRR11-181, which intersected 0.8 g/t gold over 20 metres, and 1.53 g/t gold over 14 metres. Meanwhile, hole KGRR11-185 found 1.23 g/t gold over 17 metres, while hole KGRR11-176 returned 1.27 g/t gold over 15 metres.

All of the above intersections were drilled in the eastern or far eastern half of the G1 grid, the eastern of two overlapping grids at the deposit.

The holes were collared within an east-west distance of up to 312 metres of each other, in order to define and upgrade the oxide portion of the gold mineralization.

Goldrush is preparing to update its resource estimate for the property, expected for completion in the first quarter of 2012.

In addition to the eastern holes, Goldrush drilled four holes on the South Zone of the property, where hole KGRR11-189 intersected 1.4 g/t gold over 11 metres, and hole KGRR11-192 returned 1.55 g/t gold over eight metres.

These holes, each of which intersected mineralization within 28 metres of surface, will be included in the update, Goldrush said.

President and CEO, Len Bownlie commented: "With 45% of the RC drilling assays from Ronguen now received, we are very encouraged that we will have a significant upgrade in both the classification and size of the Ronguen resource."

The Vancouver, B.C.-based company said both RC and core rigs are currently active at the property, where a 1,285-metre trenching program will begin shortly. It also said it plans to complete another phase of drilling throughout the property by the start of the holiday break.

The drill program includes up to 1,000 metres of core and RC drilling on the Salbo permit, 6,500 metres of rotary air-blast (RAB) drilling on the recently-acquired Pompoi permit, and up to 3,500 metres of RAB drilling on the Rima permit.

The Ronguen gold deposit, which currently has 249,000 ounces of inferred resources, is located within the northeastern part of the highly prospective Birimian age Boromo greenstone belt in Burkina Faso.

Goldrush Resources to start phase one exploration program at Pompoi permit

Junior explorer Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) said on Thursday that it will begin a phase one exploration program at the company’s Pompoi permit, in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

The property, adjacent to the eastern border of the Yaramoko permit held by Roxgold (CVE:ROG), rests 185 kilometres west southwest of Ouagadougou.

Goldrush said it plans to carry-out phase one exploration this November, which will include geological mapping, prospecting and close-spaced soil sampling which will help to define future targets.

This program is a follow-up to the recent discovery of two gold anomalies detected in 400 by 200 metre soil sampling, the company said in a statement.

In the southwest corner, and in the northwest to north central area of the permit, soil sampling partly defined two anomalies of more than 13 parts per billion (ppb) gold, which contained 11 and eight anomalous gold values, respectively, with individual high values up to 504 and 209 ppb.

Goldrush said the southwest anomaly had been traced over a north-south distance of 1,600 metres and an east-west range of 1,400 metres to the Pompoi-Yaramoko permit boundary. The anomalous area is 2.9 kilometres due east of Roxgold's recent Baggasi Central "55 Zone" high grade gold discovery, the company said.

Meanwhile, the northwest anomaly covers a north-south distance of 2,000 metres and an east-west range of 1,400 metres and is 2 kilometres east of the Pompoi-Yaramoko permit boundary.

The company said that closer spaced data is required to better define the orientation of the anomalous trend, or trends.
Additionally, eight separate anomalies, each composed of two adjacent samples that could represent elevated bedrock gold mineralization with strike lengths of up to 800 metres, have been documented.

Further, a single soil sampling assay of 903 ppb gold was found next to the Pompoi-Yaramoko permit boundary, about 700 metres north of Goldrush’s southwest gold-in-soil anomaly.

Goldrush, a Vancouver-based mineral explorer, concentrates on gold exploration in West Africa where the company is currently expanding and defining the Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso.
Goldrush Resources announces 8,890m autumn drill program to expand Ronguen

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) reported on Tuesday the start a fall drill program to expand its 249,000 ounce-Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa.

The 8,890 drill program consists of 1,725 metres of core drilling in 15 holes, and 7,165 metres of reverse circulation drilling in 94 holes.

In May 2008, the deposit was estimated to host an inferred resource of 5.9 million tonnes, at a grade of 1.31 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold, containing 249,000 ounces of gold.

Since that time, the West Africa-focused company has drilled 2,443 metres of core drilling, 7,661 metres of reverse circulation drilling, 315 metres of trenching, and around 7,300 metres of rotary air blast drilling. This, combined with the new fall program announced today, will form the basis for a new resource estimate, and an economic report on the project.

"Our experienced geological team is determined to move the Ronguen project towards a production decision,” said Chief Executive, Len Brownlie.

"While Goldrush is first and foremost a gold exploration company, management is very motivated to leverage the current gold price and uniform nature of the oxide resource at Ronguen into a production scenario that could provide significant cash flow, and finance future exploration programs without the need for additional shareholder dilution.”

The company’s goal for the new fall program is to advance gold mineralization from the inferred to the indicated category and to expand the deposit through exploratory drilling on the east, north and west margins of the deposit.

Further, Goldrush is looking to follow-up on previous intersections of 2.14 g/t gold over four metres from drill hole KGRR011-135, as well as 7.72 g/t gold over six metres in drill hole KGRB-007-151B, about 430 metres west of the currently-defined western limit of the deposit.

Additionally, selected targets on the company's other high-priority exploration permits will be drilled, including at least 1,000 metres of core drilling on the company's Salbo permit, where shallow, rotary air blast drilling earlier this year intersected 1.74 g/t gold over eight metres in hole SLBB11-023 and 2.12 g/t gold over six metres in hole SLBB11-030.

Development of a gold resource at Salbo, which is located less than 40 kilometres south of Ronguen, would likely enhance the viability of an operation at Ronguen, Goldrush said in a statement.

SRK Consulting, which completed the current resource estimate, has completed its preliminary fieldwork and will provide a resource update following the completion of the autumn drill program at Ronguen.

Mineralized samples of the deposit have been selected for preliminary metallurgical testing, and the company said discussions are already underway with several consulting companies to provide an environmental scoping study for the Ronguen deposit.

The impetus behind this work is to suss-out the economic viability of a mining project at Ronguen, consisting of a conventional open pit mine, providing near-surface oxide gold mineralization that is delivered to an onsite processing facility.

Goldrush plans to finish a preliminary feasibility study prior to the end of second-quarter 2012, followed by a full feasibility study.

Goldrush Resources uncovers two gold anomalies in Burkina Faso

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD)(OTCQX:GDRRF) said Wednesday it has discovered two gold anomalies, with values of up to almost 1.00 gram per tonne of gold, as part of an initial soil sampling program on its recently acquired Pompoi permit, nearby the capital of Burkina Faso, West Africa.

The sampling was concentrated on two grids of the permit, with one anomaly extending to Roxgold and Riverstone Resources' Yaramoko permit boundary, while the other anomaly is within two kilometres of the Yaramoko area.

Assays received to date define two areas of more than 13 parts per billion (ppb) of gold, in the southwest corner of the permit and in the northwest to north central area, which contain eleven and eight anomalous values, respectively.

Individual values ranged to as high as 504 ppb and 209 ppb, respectively, the company said. Of 894 soil samples submitted for testing on both anomalies, 59 returned values of greater than 13 ppb gold, and of those, 23 had values of greater than 21 ppb gold.

The southwest anomaly can be traced over a north-south distance of 1,600 metres and an east-west distance of 1,400 metres to the Roxgold Yaramoko permit boundary.

Meanwhile, the northwest anomaly spans a north-south distance of 2,000 metres and an east-west distance of 1,400 metres.

Goldrush said that closer-spaced data will be required to better define the orientations of the clusters of anomalous values. Its geochemical sampling program involved sampling at 200 metre intervals, along east-west lines that were spaced 400 metres apart, and has covered only 30% of the permit.

The company also said that the anomalous values found could represent areas of elevated bedrock gold mineralization, with strike lengths of up to 800 metres.

According to Goldrush, a technical report from last year on the Yaramoko permit suggests that the mineralized structures at that site may trend easterly onto Pompoi.

Roxgold reported in April that at the Bagassi Central site on the Yaramoko property, 24.62 g/t gold was intersected over 6 metres in hole YMR-10-RC-036, along with 28.61 g/t gold over 20 metres in hole YMR-11-RC-055.

In Goldrush's sampling program, it said that a total of 50 control samples, including 35 blanks and 15 standards, were inserted in the sample stream for quality control.

A program to follow-up and extend the sampling results is planned, the company said, including more detailed soil sampling, mapping and geophysics - set to start as soon as possible.

Goldrush to earn 100% interest in four permits in Burkina Faso

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) announced Monday it has signed an option agreement to earn a 100% interest in four permits near recently-discovered gold deposits in Burkina Faso.

The Canadian explorer will pay a total of C$177,083 in cash, plus 70,000 shares in consideration for the permits, which cover approximately 667 square kilometres across the northwest, west and southern regions of Burkina Faso, located in the western portion of Africa.

The 250 square kilometre Rima permit, located in central Burkina Faso, overlies a portion of the Boromo greenstone belt. Its eastern border is on strike with an open pit gold mine, owned by Cluff Mining.

Cluff's Kalsaka mine hosts gold mineralization in narrow shear zones. Structural mapping indicates the deposit runs west southwest - towards the Rima permit.

At the end of 2010, the Kalsaka mine had an estimated 186,000 ounces of proven and probable gold reserves, along with 216,000 ounces of measured and indicated gold resources, and 157,000 ounces of inferred gold resources.

Meanwhile, the Pompoi permit, which measures 232 square kilometres, overlies the eastern edge of the north trending Hounde greenstone belt, and is adjacent to the eastern border of Riverstone Resource's and Roxgold's Yaramoko permit.

Reverse circulation drilling at Yaramoko intersected 28.61 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 20.0 metres in hole YMR-11-RC-055, located one kilometre from the Pompoi permit boundary.

The third acquired permit, the 56 square kilometre Midebdo permit, is located immediately to the west of the Tiopolo permit, owned by Ampella Mining, which hosts the Konkera gold deposit on the western side of the Boromo greenstone belt.

Ampella released indicated resources of 1.18 million ounces, and inferred resources of 1.04 million ounces of gold earlier this year. This resource remains open along strike and at depth, making the northeastern quadrant of Goldrush's Midebdo permit, which runs along strike of the Konkera-hosting trend, a priority.

Lastly, the Ouraba permit, measuring 129 square kilometres in size, is bordered by Volta Resources' Malba permit to the west, and Ampella's Donko permit to the south, where significant gold-in-soil anomalies have been found. It overlies the eastern side of the Boromo greenstone belt.

Assays from the drill program on the Gonaba Est permit, measuring 80 square kilometres, and the Nakiambouri permit, measuring 225 square kilometres, have confirmed the discovery of gold mineralization coincident with chargeability highs from induced polarization surveying and elevated rock sample gold assays, the company said.

At Nakiambouri, a quarter of all assay results found anomalous gold grading at least 0.1 grams per tonne (g/t). Holes NKR11-001 and NKR11-017 returned 43% and 50% anomalous gold, respectively, suggesting that the gold mineralized envelope is quite wide in this area.

Of the 15 holes drilled on Nakiambouri, 11 encountered at least one metre of shallow gold mineralization, grading at least 0.5 g/t gold, to a maximum of 4.16 g/t gold.

The Nakiambouri permit returned one metre grading 4.16 g/t gold out of hole NKR11-008, and 3.99 g/t gold over one metre from drill hole NKR11-012.

Out of the Gonaba Est permit, drill results at the Konkofoni Southwest target included two metres grading 5.05 g/t gold in hole GEKR11-003.

Moreover, assays from the Konkofoni (Hong Kong) target returned six metres measuring 2.18 g/t gold at a vertical depth of 53.2 metres in hole GEKR11-012, leading the company to believe that the gold zone widens at depth. On the same target, hole GEKR11-004 found 11.35 g/t gold over one metre.

Meanwhile, on the Kilou target on the Tikare permit, 2.48 g/t gold over four metres was found in hole TKKR11-010, located approximately 12 kilometres northwest of Goldrush's 249,000 ounce Ronguen gold deposit, where exploration is ongoing.

To follow up on the promising results, the Canadian mineral exploration company said it has entered into contracts to conduct 10,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling, and 8,000 metres of core drilling in late August, after seasonal rains in the area have abated.

In the meantime, Goldrush said it is conducting mapping, gridding, soil sampling and induced polarization geophysical surveys throughout its permit areas to refine potential drill hole locations.

Goldrush Resources uncovers additional gold zone through step out hole at Ronguen

Vancouver-based Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) reported Thursday the results from 19 drill holes at its Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa, discovering additional gold zones 430 metres away from the current resource.

The 19 reverse circulation holes consisted of 11 holes on the western G2 grid, five holes on the eastern grid, and three on the South Zone, which is roughly 200 metres south of the Ronguen Main Zone.

On the western G2 grid, hole KGRR011-135, drilled 430 metres to the west of the nearest hole on the Ronguen deposit, returned 2.14 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over 4 metres at a vertical depth of 13 metres.

This hole is also just 40 metres northeast of a previous rotary air blast hole, which intersected 7.72 g/t gold over 6 metres.

The company said that hole 135 represents either the north-east extension of the prior rotary hole, or a new mineralized zone. Either way, however, the discovery of additional zones 430 metres from the deposit has the potential to boost the ultimate size of the project.

Meanwhile, the company saw solid grades over wide intercepts in the South Zone. Highlights include 3.62 g/t gold over 6 metres in hole KGRR011-130; 1.70 g/t gold over 7 metres and 1.29 g/t gold over 7 metres in hole KGRR011-152, drilled 40 metres west of hole 130.

Other notable results from the west and east grids include 1.14 g/t gold over 17 metres in hole KGRR011-145; 0.95 g/t gold over 16 metres in hole KGRR011-150; and 0.84 g/t gold over 15 metres in hole KGRR011-128.

Goldrush said the results from these holes have confirmed gold mineralization in areas of the Main Zone that saw little prior drilling.

The company is still awaiting results from more reverse circulation holes drilled on other target areas. To follow up on the results so far, Goldrush has entered into contracts to complete 10,000 metres of further reverse circulation drilling and 8,000 metres of core drilling during the third quarter.

The Ronguen deposit, which hosts 249,000 ounces of inferred gold, remains open to the west, north and northeast.

Goldrush Resources expands Ronguen North gold zone

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) said Monday that drilling has expanded the footprint of the recent Ronguen North Zone gold discovery in Burkina Faso by 5.7 hectares.

The drill program consisted of 85 shallow, rotary air blast drill holes completed in February on the company's Kongoussi and Tikare permits, which host the 249,000 ounce Ronguen gold deposit. The drilling campaign was designed to test for extensions of the deposit and to find further targets.

Highlights of the results include 3.92 g/t gold over 10 metres, including 9.38 g/t gold over 4 metres in hole KRB11-0341; 2.86 g/t gold over 6 metres in hole KGRB11-0338; 0.62 g/t gold over 12 metres in hole KGRB11-0329; and 1.28 g/t gold over 4 metres in hole KGRB11-0331.

The company said the results extended the mineralization of the Ronguen deposit up to 180 metres north, with the new zone remaining open laterally and to depth.

Based on the encouraging results, additional reverse circulation drill hole locations have been planned on the new North Zone, with target depths of up to 80 metres to allow the mineralization to be easily included into an upgraded 2011 Ronguen resource estimate.

To date, Goldrush has drilled 3,900 metres of a planned 9,600 metre program on the Ronguen deposit and surrounding permits, which began in mid-March.

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) said Wednesday that rotary air blast (RAB) drilling at its Salbo permit in Burkina Faso has confirmed the presence of significant near-surface gold mineralization.

Salbo is located just north of the capital of Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, and 35 kilometres south of Goldrush's Ronguen gold deposit, which has a 249,000 ounce inferred resource.

The Vancouver-based company's RAB drilling program at Salbo was the first to test three northeast-southwest anomalous gold trends located in the central western part of the permit.

Highlights of 85 RAB drill holes include 1.74 g/t gold over 8 metres in hole SLBB11-023; 2.12 g/t gold over 6 metres in hole SLBB11-030; 1.81 g/t gold over 6 metres in holes SLBB11-055; 2.56 g/t gold over 4 metres in hole SLBB11-048; and 2.64 g/t gold over 3 metres in hole SLB11-001.

The company said that comparison of the RAB holes with the induced polarization (IP) survey results show that the gold mineralized holes are "clearly associated with strong chargeable" anomalies that extend to the limits of the one square kilometre IP grid area. Further exploration will test these IP anomalies, which indicate the potential for extending near-surface gold mineralization on strike.

In addition, despite some drilling difficulties due to resistant country rocks, a number of holes contained "anomalous gold content" at the bottom of the hole, Goldrush said, suggesting intersection of just the upper part of a gold zone. The company plans to use both reverse circulation and core drilling to further explore these deeper targets.

Separately, Goldrush also announced that it has received the results from RAB drilling on its two permits that comprise the Ronguen gold deposit, which will be released once they have been analyzed. The company intends to complete an upgraded resource estimate for the deposit later this year.

Goldrush Resources (CVE:GOD) announced Tuesday the planned exploration program for its three newly optioned gold permits in Burkina Faso, which have significantly extended the company's footprint in the area.

The first two adjacent permits, Nakiambouri and Gonaba-Est, which will be the priority of the exploration program, are located in south-eastern Burkina Faso and together have a surface area of more than 300 sq kilometres. They lie along the northeast extension of the Youga Greenstone Belt, approximately 100 kilometres northeast of Endeavour Mining's (TSX: EDV) Youga Gold Mine.

The Gonaba-Est permit is also contiguous with the north boundary of Mt. Isa Metals' Yactibo project that hosts a new gold discovery approximately 25 kilometres to the south.

Both the Nakiambouri and Gonaba-Est permits are home to a number of long-term artisanal mining sites, including the two kilometre long Hong Kong site, which was worked by over 100 orpailleurs since 2002, and the PK-60 site, where 200 gold workers are currently active.

The company said it plans a program of detailed mapping and rock sampling on these permits, followed by ground geophysics surveys and reverse circulation drilling.

The third permit, Liki, which has a surface area of 180 sq kilometres, is located in the north central region along the Bouroum-Yalgo Greenstone Belt that hosts High River Gold Mines' (TSX:HRG) Taparko Gold Mine. At Liki, artisanal miners are extracting gold over a strike length of at least 400 metres.

Goldrush will begin a 1,000 metre reverse circulation drill program at the main Liki artisanal site as part of the 5,000 metre drill program scheduled to begin the third week of February at the company's Ronguen Deposit.

With the additional three permits, the company now has eight prospective permits that cover 1,330 square kilometres of West African Birimian Greenstone Belts, the host of six operating gold mines.

Goldrush Resources: drilling in Burkina Faso may ignite re-rating

Goldrush Resources (TSX-V:GOD) is currently focused on gold exploration in Burkina Faso where it is developing a number of very promising early stage exploration projects, and is mounting a substantial development program to build up gold resources at the Ronguen Gold Deposit. Additional exploration programs are underway over numerous targets located on a very prospective 20 kilometer strike line that encompasses Ronguen.

Goldrush owns 5 8 permits covering 845 km², all located within the Birimian Greenstone Belts that are found across Burkina Faso, and have a history of prolific gold production. The country hosts at least 10 deposits containing in excess of 19 million ounces of gold found on these greenstone belts that are currently producing or are under development. The largest of these deposits is at the Esskane Mine with 5.3 million ounces, which is operated by Iamgold (TSX; IMG, NYSE: IAG).

Burkina Faso has had very little modern exploration carried out on its greenstone belts and can be compared to exploring Canada one hundred years ago. The Burkina Faso authorities are keen supporters of modern mining in a country that is safe, stable and poor and has few sources of foreign earnings. The government has already permitted 6 new mines in the last 4 years and that number is expected to grow significantly.

Goldrush’s most advanced project is located on the Kongoussi 1 and Tikare Permits which cover an area of 383 km² and are located 92 kilometers by paved highway north of Ouagadougou, which is the capital of the country. The Kongoussi 1 permit contains the Ronguen Deposit which has an NI 43-101 compliant Inferred Resource of 5.90 million tonnes at 1.31 g/t for 249,000 ounces of gold. This estimate was prepared in 2008 and it is apparent from recent drilling and technical work carried out on the permits that the size of the resource could grow very substantially both from within and around the deposit and at satellite deposits in its vicinity. There are a number of other gold resources that range in size of 1 to 2 million ounces that lie within 100 kilometers of the property and are indicative of the potential that may be unlocked. High River Gold (TSX: HRG), which has had a long term relationship with Goldrush has a one time buy back right for 50% on the project.

The Ronguen Deposit occurs north of a south dipping thrust fault within a thick zone developed in fine grained graphitic sedimentary rocks intruded by diorite. The gold mineralization is associated with arrays of quartz-carbonate veins and disseminated and veinlet pyrite developed within the major south dipping brittle-ductile deformation zone.

In mid 2010 the company completed 12 core drill holes into the deposit, and down dip, that doubled the depth of the defined resource from 80 meters to up to 160 meters and it remains open at depth. A second program of 12 Reverse Circulation (RC) holes for 1,484 meters confirmed additional depth extensions and additional drilling extended the strike length of the deposit. At this stage 21 drill fences had been completed at a spacing of 40 to 80 meters, over a distance of 1,500 meters, covering significant and shallow gold intersections that appear to be amenable to open pit mining.

Drilling in the central part of the deposit discovered a near surface supergene or enriched gold zone. Drill hole RC96 hit 7.63 g/t over 16 meters and 3.17 g/t over 22 meters, and drill hole RC99 hit 3.10 g/t over 34 meters. This near surface ore block carrying values in excess of 3 g/t has potential to become a high grade starter pit. Recent Rotary Air Blast drilling up-dip on this zone confirmed significant gold values.

Recent trenching on the northeast side of the deposit has extended the mineralized zone into a previously untested area, where 3 trenches for 315 meters found significant gold values. The easternmost trench of 104 meters cut two gold zones including 0.90 g/t over 15.2 meters and 1.45 g/t over 22.8 meters including 2.09 g/t over 10.8 g/t. A second trench 40 meters west of the first trench over 200 meters cut 2.99 g/t over 3.4 g/t. This northeast section now becomes a high priority target for a planned Reverse Circulation drilling campaign, which has been delayed but is expected to get underway in mid February. This will be a 5,000 meter program for 54 drill holes.

The Ronguen deposit is now confirmed over a 1.5 kilometer long strike line that is still open to both the east and west along strike and at depth, and contained within a deformation zone measured at 5 kilometers. Mineralization starts near surface and is open pittable mostly oxide ore. Goldrush intends to complete an updated NI43-101 Resource Estimate update in the second quarter of this year after completion of the next drilling campaign, which will also test several targets along a 20 kilometer strike line beyond Ronguen to both the east and west. Targets that have been previously identified across this line include Kilou, Badinogo, Loungo and the Saddle Zone.

A new deposit has also been identified 300 meters south of main zone called Ronguen South. Reconnaissance Rotary Air Blast drilling at Pouni, which is an artisanal mining site located 10 kilometers northeast of Ronguen discovered a shallow gold zone, grading 1.94 g/t over 8 meters, at a depth of 12 to 20 meters. This zone has been allocated 1,000 meters of drilling in the upcoming drilling campaign.

Other projects include the Salbo Permit, which is located 60 kilometers north of the capital. The property abuts the High River Bissa Project, which carries a Measured and Indicated Resource of 2.65 million ounces of gold and an Inferred Resource of 218,000 ounces. Salbo contains 3 mineralized trends, with the main trend measured at a length of 2 kilometers. This trend has reported grades as high as 30 g/t gold from surface samples and contains 2 artisanal mining sites. Two additional smaller trend lines report grades of up to 8 g/t and 10 g/t. Ground geophysics and drilling are planned on selected targets.

The Ouavousse Permit is located 120 kilometers northeast of the capital, where sampling over a 10 kilometer area shows high value gold values from multiple locations, including samples of up to 9.25 g/t gold, and trenching results of 1.58 g/t gold over 5 meters. A major trend line at Poessin has 500 artisanal miners digging for near surface high grade gold. The Bougou 1 permit, which is 200 kilometers northeast of the capital, abuts the High River Taparko Mine which has a Measured and Indicated Resource of 758,000 ounces of gold. Both permits are set for technical studies and Rotary Air blast drilling over mineralized trends.

In a recent news release dated February 2, 2011 Goldrush announced that it has optioned 3 new Burkina Faso exploration permits two of which, Gonaba-Est and Nakiambouri, are in the immediate vicinity of Mt. Isa Metals Ltd.’s new and exciting gold discovery on its Yactibo project. In fact, Nakiambouri and Yactibo share a common boundary. Similarities between the two areas include the same geological rock sequences and extensive artisanal mining activities, which are an excellent pathfinder to gold mineralization. One artisanal mining site on Nakiambouri more than 100 artisanal miners have been in continuous gold production for over 9 years.

Goldrush’s third new permit, Liki, islocated in north central Burkina Faso along the Bouroum-Yalgo Greenstone Belt that hosts the Taparko Gold Mine of High River Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:HRG) ( located
approximately 80 kilometers to the southwest) and the Inata Gold Mine of Avocet Mining PLC
(located approximately 55 kilometers to the northwest).

Goldrush is on the cusp of unlocking the potential around its Ronguen gold resource and on its other highly prospective permits that have seen very little exploration activity. The company carries a market capitalization of only $29 million. The Canadian peer group of Burkina Faso explorers, who have met success in that country, carry much heftier valuations, which include Volta Resources (TSX: VTR), Orezone Resources (TSX: ORE), Riverstone Resources (TSX-V: RVS); and Cluff Gold (TSX: CFG).

Goldrush Resources signs options for three prospective gold permits in Burkina Faso

Goldrush Resources (TSX-V: GOD) said Wednesday it has signed option agreements to earn 100% ownership in three gold exploration permits in Burkina Faso, West Africa - adding to the company's footprint in the area.

Together with the company’s existing five permits in the region, the company now has eight prospective permits that cover 1,330 square kilometres of West African Birimian Greenstone Belts, the host of six operating gold mines.

The first two adjacent permits, Nakiambouri and Gonaba-Est, are located in south- eastern Burkina Faso and together have a surface area of more than 300 sq kilometres. They lie along the northeast extension of the Youga Greenstone Belt, approximately 100 kilometres northeast of Endeavour Mining's (TSX: EDV) Youga Gold Mine.

At Gonaba-Est, there are two areas of active artisanal workings. At both sites, subparallel quartz veins extend across strike over mineralized zones 10 to 30 metres in width.

Meanwhile, Nakiambouri contains one area of artisanal mining approximately 250 metres in strike length. Similar to Gonaba-Est, sub parallel quartz veins extend across the mineralized zone which, based on the dispersion of gold worker pits, is 20 to 30 metres wide.

Goldrush said it has conducted preliminary exploration on all three of the permits, with grab samples from Liki assaying as high as 19.15 g/t gold. At Nakiambouri, the percentage of samples with equal or greater than 0.5 g/t gold was nearly 43%. Based on these results, the company said it plans to pursue aggressive exploration programs on all the three permits.

In exchange for Liki and Nakiambouri, Goldrush agreed to pay a cash consideration of CFA 28 million (approximately US$56,000) on closing and an additional CFA 28 million payable after one year. The company also has to issue 20,000 shares to the buyer once the transaction receives regulatory approval.

For the Gonaba-Est permit, Goldrush must pay a total of CFA 75 million (US$150,000) in installments, at certain dates, over two year's time. It must also issue the buyer 20,000 shares.

Goldrush rallied 2.2% on Wednesday to trade at $0.23 as of 2:20pm EST.

Goldrush Resources expands mineralized zone at Ronguen gold deposit to the northeast

West Africa-focused mineral explorer Goldrush Resources (TSX-V:GOD) said Monday that recent drilling results from three trenches northeast of the Ronguen gold project in Burkina Faso have expanded the mineralized footprint of the deposit.

The three trenches, which totaled 315 metres in length, were excavated on the northern limits of the G1 grid that covers the eastern portion of the deposit.

The easternmost trench, TR-1380E, which was excavated for 104 metres, intersected two significant gold zones, said the company.

The first zone assayed 0.90 g/t gold over 15.2 metres in the south end, and the second zone, in the northern portion of the trench, assayed 1.45 g/t gold over 22.8 metres, including 2.09 g/t gold over 10.8 metres.

Meanwhile, the company also intersected 2.99 g/t gold over 3.4 metres in trench TR-1340E, which was excavated for 200 metres and is located 40 metres to the west of TR-1380E.

Goldrush said these results confirm that signficant gold mineralization could occur to the east of the currently drilled portion of the deposit, meaning this area will be a high prority target for the company in the upcoming 54-hole reverse circulation drill program.

Last November's drilling program consisted of 98 holes totaling 4,023 metres, and tested targets at the margins of the Ronguen gold deposit.

Goldrush Resources' drill results suggest gold mineralization to the west of Ronguen deposit

Goldrush Resources (TSX -V: GOD) said Wednesday it has intersected a "potentially signficant" drill result on the westernmost line of the G2 grid that covers the western portion of the Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa, as it suggests that gold mineralization may occur to the west of the currently drilled portion of the project.

The hole, KGRR010 - 105 returned 6.72 g/t gold over 8 metres in an altered, pyritized diorite cut by quartz veinlets, which is centred at the transition between saprolite and fresh rock at a vertical depth of 44.50 metres, the company said.

"This drill hole cut an area of mineralization that is open to the west and is on trend of a number of areas of elevated soil and rock geochemistry and artisanal mining sites that extend up to 12 kilometres to the west of the Ronguen gold deposit," it added in a statement.

Goldrush also intersected 32.95 g/t gold over 1 metre in RC hole KGR010-102, which is located on the adjoining section 40 metres to the east of hole KGRR010-105.

Further reverse circulation drilling is planned in December and January for the area to the west of hole 105, Goldrush said, and exploration will continue along the 12 kilometre trend to the west.

The company is still waiting for results from three trenches on the northeastern border of the G1 grid, as well as from a 4,000 metre RAB drilling program that tested new targets on the two permits that host the Ronguen deposit.

Goldrush was up more than 2% on Wednesday, trading at $0.23 as of 1:40pm EST.

Goldrush Resources (TSX-V: GOD) has released further results from its phase 2 reverse circulation drilling and trenching program at its Ronguen gold deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa, with intersections returning 3.10g/t gold over 34 metres.

RC hole KGRR010-099, which intersected the above result, was centered at a vertical depth of 12 metres. Visible gold was observed from 11 to 16, 22 to 24, 25 to 30 and 32 to 34 metres down-hole. Gold grades in the mineralized interval ranged from 0.55 g/t to 6.32 g/t gold, the company said.

The hole is located on the eastern grid on section 970E, at the northern limit of the current grid.

"Preliminary interpretation of the drilling results of section 970E indicates that near surface gold grades in this area of the Ronguen gold deposit appear to have been enhanced by supergene enrichment," the company said in a statement.

Other significant results from eight additional holes on the G1 grid include 1.51g/t gold over 15 metres in hole KGRR010-095, 1.63g/t gold over 12 metres in hole KGRR010-093 and 1.17g/t gold over 9 metres in hole KGRR010-094.

The Ronguen gold deposit is located within the northeastern part of the Birimian age Boromo greenstone belt in Burkina Faso.

A 4,000 metre rotary air blast drilling program is currently underway to test new targets on the two permits that host the Ronguen deposit, and will include holes to probe the area to the north of hole KGRR010-099 to test its limits. In addition, a 5,000 metre reverse circulation drill program on these permits will begin in mid-December or early January, the company said.
