Alterian buys social media monitoring software group Techrigy for up to US$5 mln

Marketing software maker Alterian PLC (LSE: ALN) said it has acquired Techrigy Inc, specialised in social media monitoring and analytics software, for up to US$4.1 million plus the assumption of shareholder loans of US$0.9 million.

It will pay an initial US$0.6 million through the issue of 308,650 Alterian shares at a price of 120 pence each. The remaining up to US$3.5 million is subject to performance and will be satisfied through the issue of up to a maximum of 1,800,408 Alterian shares at a price of 120 pence each.

The acquisition is expected to be earnings enhancing in the first full year of ownership.

Alterian says Q3 performance in line, wins software deal from Jaguar Land Rover

Marketing software group Alterian PLC reported that performance in the third quarter to end-December 2008 was in line with company expectations and that it won a deal from Jaguar Land Rover.

Revenue for the third quarter and nine months ending 31 December 2008 doubled compared to the prior year periods. Renewal rates continued to be high in the third quarter and the company has a strong pipeline, it said in an interim management statement.

The integration of Mediasurface has been successfully completed and the company has implemented its cost efficiency programme.

Full year revenues will be weighted to the fourth quarter of the year due to the concentration of receipts under long term contracts and renewals and will depend to some extent on the rate of roll out of products by Alterian's partners and the timing of contracts. The outlook for the fourth quarter remains positive and the board continues to target good revenue growth and remains confident about its prospects.

In a separate statement, Alterian said Jaguar Land Rover has entered into a licence agreement under which it will use Alterian Content Management software to manage its global websites. Financial details were not disclosed.
