 Ophir Energy (LON:OPHR – 75p) – Proper Engineering: Today's update from the Company is a reminder that Ophir is now more than just an explorer. While there is a distance for it to still travel before it reaches the point of self-sufficiency, that Management obviously encourage its engineers to optimise the infrastructure (Bualuang) in a manner conducive to sweating the assets is something that we are pleased to see and believe is a good sign that the Company will manage the transition from explorer to full lifecycle producer with greater ease than would otherwise have been considered. While not specifically within the Company's "raison d'être," we believe that this approach demonstrates that the Company may be operationally in a position to establish a new production segment, potentially a new business unit, focusing on mature basins, such as the North Sea. Just a thought, but w e can't help but think that this update shows more in the way of potential that the Company could achive than it has been given credit for to date.
