Beyond concerns about the EU and its ability to contain its debt, the market is tracking the China demand story. Thursday’s slide should also be put in context, as we’re talking about a market that has had robust gains over the last 5 days. As early ago as last Tuesday, the sky was falling and everybody was comparing this to 2008. 6 trading days later and 100 points will get us all the way to 11,400.  Stocks edged off their session lows after Slovakia’s parliament voted to approve an expanded bailout fund. Slovakia is the last of 17 nations needed to give the green light to a more-powerful EU Financial Stability Facility.

 

 

 

Mid-Day: The NASDAQ is Down -0.13 (-0.0%) to 2,604.60. The Dow is UP -33.61 (-0.31%) to 11,483.24.
