The term ‘eco-tech’ often conjures up images of wind farms and other low-carbon energy-generating technologies. But eco-tech does not just apply to direct energy generation: it can stand also for technologies that ensure human beings have access to safe sources of water and food.

TyraTech, Inc. was established in 2004 to utilize its novel technology to fill the unmet and increasing global demand for effective, safe, and natural pesticide technologies for human and animal health.
TyraTech's products incorporate a unique blend of potent natural active ingredients and are available in a number of markets including consumer, commercial, professional pest control, agriculture, human and animal health, vector control and livestock markets.
TyraTech, Inc. made its Initial Public Offering in June 2007 on the AIM section of the London Stock Exchange, where it trades under the symbol TYR. Since going public, TyraTech has established partnerships with market leaders in areas such as human health as well as consumer and commercial pest control operators.
Technology
TyraTech's proprietary technology targets specific neurological receptors only active in insects and parasites. These receptors (nerve centers) are not active in humans and other mammals. TyraTech's patented scientific platform harnesses synergistic combinations of natural compounds, resulting in non-toxic products that are safe for people and pets.
The TyraTech screening platform facilitates the development of products that are selective for invertebrates. The selected and cloned G protein coupled receptor targets are only active in invertebrates, (e.g. insects, parasites) so mammalian toxicity is less likely to be an issue, providing products that are safer than traditional synthetic chemical pesticides.
TyraTech's proprietary technology is based on a unique discovery platform for the identification of both individual and combinations of compounds that can bind to sensitive G-protein coupled neurological and olfactory receptors of invertebrates (for example, insects and certain parasites). Compounds that bind to and activate these receptors have been shown to be powerful insecticides by triggering a disruption of the intra-cellular cAMP and "calcium cascade" pathway that is necessary for insect function and survival. This effect results in the repelling or killing of the invertebrate pests.

Markets
Traditional chemical products have been the primary means for control of invertebrate pests in home and industry, as well as for personal and animal health. Unfortunately, traditional chemical products are often compromised by the development of insect resistance, environmental concerns, and adverse health effects in humans and animals. TyraTech products are designed to overcome these issues by targeting nerve centers found only in invertebrates, making our products safe for People, Pets and the Environment. TyraTech has a presence in a number of lucrative market segments.
TyraTech is developing products for the agricultural and horticultural markets that are designed to address the market need for products with reduced levels of synthetic chemicals, improved safety profiles, and an ability to overcome or prevent resistance.
TyraTech Natural Agricultural and Horticultural Pesticides include EPA exempt and non-exempt active ingredients in insecticides to be incorporated into final commercial insecticide products by TyraTech's partners for application to control insects such as white flies, thrips, aphids and mites. The lead products are undergoing field testing in preparation for final formulation into partner finished products.

TyraTech intends to develop all-GRAS TyraTech Natural formulation for use as additives in companion pet and production livestock feeds to prevent certain intestinal parasite infections. This development activity is an extension of the human parasite food additive project, and TyraTech will seek a marketing partner for this product.
TyraTech's commercial and institutional business provides the operators of restaurants, hospitals, schools, hotels and other commercial enterprises with insect control products that are potent, safe, and easy to use. The TyraTech Naturals™ product line is engineered to deliver powerful insect control that's safe enough for daily use in sensitive kitchen, food storage, and customer areas.
Our proprietary natural ingredients are effective against a broad spectrum of common commercial pests including drain flies, fruit flies, cockroaches, and ants. TyraTech Naturals™ compliments professional pest control services and can be applied easily without licenses or special protective equipment. When used as part of an integrated pest management approach, TyraTech Naturals™ gives commercial enterprises the unique ability to control pests in sensitive areas without the use of synthetics.

The consumer market for pesticides demands the quick knockdown and kill of insects, but with unparalleled safety. Our products are developed with TyraTech Nature's Technology which provide consumers with an unparalleled level of potency and safety. TyraTech is continuing to develop a broad range of consumer products to meet today's demand for safe and effective insecticides and pesticides.
We have developed a product for Terminix called Terminix SafeShield. Terminix SafeShield is a ready-to-use indoor insect spray made with natural active ingredients that target nerve centers found only in invertebrate pests, not humans or pets. Please click on the Terminix SafeShield button for more information on the product.
Although infections by intestinal parasites have plagued man for centuries, there are currently no prophylactic products to keep people free from these parasites for long periods of time. Treatment, rather than prevention, has been the only choice for many governments.
Despite many years of government sponsored and non-governmental supported helminth eradication programs, it is reported that more than 2 billion people around the world are infected with intestinal parasites. Current best practice guidelines from leading health organizations focus on improving public sanitation, making potable drinking water readily available to the masses and education programs that describe the problem and how to avoid it. Unfortunately, these measures are beyond the financial resources of most of the developing countries that bear the heaviest incidence of parasitic infestation.
TyraTech has established an exclusive co-development agreement with Kraft Foods to develop a functional food product that incorporates TyraTech proprietary natural products and which can be consumed on a daily basis to keep an individual free from helminths (intestinal parasites). This innovative line of food products is in active development as a collaboration between the companies.

The Public Health segment, often referred to as the Vector Control segment, addresses the global market for products used by governmental agencies, NGOs and commercial operations to control disease-carrying insects such as mosquitoes. It includes wide-area control products and specialized products such as those used by resorts and golf courses. TyraTech's Public Health products attack insects at all stages of development and can be designed to kill or merely repel insects as the mode of operation.
Because of TyraTech products' unsurpassed safety profile, and because control occurs at various developmental stages, TyraTech products are suitable for most vector control applications. They can control mosquitoes very effectively in areas where mosquitoes breed reducing the potential of adverse effects on the population and the environment. TyraTech products can be used in applications around food and food crops, and in close proximity to humans or animals. They are even be used in and around public buildings and living quarters.
TyraTech is addressing the needs of this segment worldwide through international distributors and partnerships with established companies who lead in this segment.
