It added that the BAM East Gold Deposit remains open along strike to the east, west, and down dip.

Landore said metallurgical testing completed to-date yields between 97% and 99% combined gold recovery by gravity concentration followed by cyanidation leach extraction of the gravity tail.

Leach kinetics were rapid with most of the gold extraction completed within 2 to 6 hours.

The BAM East Gold Deposit is located approximately mid-way along the 31 kilometre corridor traversing Landore Resource's Junior Lake Property from east to west of favourable greenstone belt hosting multiple known gold occurrences including the Lamaune Gold Prospect.

Season’s drilling campaign “has been extremely successful”

Bill Humphries, Landore’s chief executive officer commented: "We are delighted with the rapid growth of the BAM East Gold Resource, all potentially extractable by low cost open pit mining method which together with the exceptional metallurgical results reporting up to 99% recovery of gold, further enhances this exciting project and supports our high expectations that it can be developed with low capex/opex costs amongst the lowest quartile of gold mining producers.”

He added: “This seasons drilling campaign has been extremely successful in both increasing the size of the resource and improving the confidence level. In addition exploration has established numerous targets along trend that with drilling have the potential to become additional resources.”

A secondary listing in Toronto would, in the view of the Landore directors, prove beneficial to advance Landore’s significant mineral discoveries on the Junior Lake property.

To support any application to the TSX, Landore will be required to submit an updated NI 43-101 technical report on Junior Lake to include all of the previously reported mineral resource estimates as well as the BAM East Gold Deposit.

As previously announced, Landore has engaged Roscoe Postle Associates of Toronto, Canada to complete the Landore Junior Lake technical report, which is scheduled to be finalised during Q4 2017.

The technical report will include resource upgrades for the BAM East gold deposit; the B4-7 polymetallic deposit; and the VW nickel-copper-cobalt deposit.

The three deposits, BAM Gold, B4-7 and VW are all located within three kilometres of each other, providing significant cost saving synergies for their development either together or in sequence, Landore said.

Shares in Landore were up 2.6% at 1.95p in early trading.

The explorer highlighted the rapid delineation of BAM East in the twelve month period following the discovery and its highly successful summer drilling programme, saying that the findings bode well for the possibility of finding and delineating similar open pit gold deposits.

It now plans to start new drill programmes to test extensions of BAM, once the company has received a new resource assessment in fourth quarter of the year.

“Indications are that the BAM East Gold deposit and adjacent areas have potential for substantial growth,” the company said.

In terms of its financial results, the pre-revenue explorer reported a £1.75mln loss with exploration cost stated at £1.32mln.

Landore raised £2.02mln during the reporting period, and it ended the six months with £618,924 of cash and equivalents.

The deal sees Landore will receive more than 576mln new shares in Lamaune in full satisfaction of the loan provided by Landore. It will mean that Landore will own just over 90% of Lamaune.

Landore, which back in 2011 demerged assets into Lamaune, said it believes it is in the best interests of shareholders to remerge Lamaune in order for the company to continue exploration across a greenstone belt that traverses the Landore-Lamaune properties.

The potential of these areas was highlighted by successful discovery of the BAM East Gold deposit in 2015, Landore highlighted.

It added that a review conducted after the BAM East find concluded that several prospects, including the Lamaune gold deposit, were similar in geology and mineralisation to the new discovery.

The debt settlement deal is deemed to be a related party transaction, as Bill Humphries and Richard Prickett are directors of both Landore and Lamaune.

The company has made great strides at two major deposits at Junior Lake in Ontario, to the extent that Bill Humphries, Landore’s chief executive, reckons they will be ready for a development decision this year.

Much depends on the nickel price though.

In recent years nickel has been very weak and the current price of around U$9,700 per tonne, while above last year, is still well below its best.

Humphries takes the view that renewed strength is likely within the next couple of years and remains upbeat that the US$13,000 to US$14,000 per tonne level that it would take to make the two Junior Lake deposits really pay their way isn’t that far off.

In the meantime events at Junior Lake have taken an unexpected, but welcome, turn.

In the final round of the most recent drilling campaign at the B4-7 nickel deposit, a geophysical target two kilometres east of the known mineralisation was tested, with the idea that it might turn up more nickel showings.

Instead, what turned up was gold.

Gold adds some glister

This isn’t altogether surprising, as Humphries explains.

“Junior Lake is a polymetallic property.

“We’ve been concentrating on copper and nickel for some time, and we’ve been dedicated to advancing the nickel projects, but in the meantime, as we’ve been drilling on the greenstone we’ve frequently hit gold and sometimes at quite high grade.”

Indeed, at the Lamaune deposit, which was subsequently spun out of the company, Landore hit as much as 130 grams per tonne gold; elsewhere at Junior Lake intersects running as high as 35 grams have been reported over the years.

What made this different was the potential scale.

For a start, this intersection runs across more than 30 metres and grades just over 1 gram per tonne.

Not bonanza grades, maybe, but across that kind of width, certainly attractive enough to consider a bulk mining scenario.

There were also higher grade sections within that wider intersect, including 3.7 metres at 4.21 grams.

So far so good

Bill Humphries is under no illusions as to the significance of the discovery at BAM East.

It’s not just his own long-years of experience in the mining industry, and in particular as one of the founders of Brancote Resources, one of the Aim market’s first great mining success stories.

It’s also that other parties are beginning to show an interest in BAM too.

“We’ve got a lot of people talking to us,” he says. “After we finished the first round of drilling we had people calling straight away.”

There are many reasons for that. The first, straightforwardly enough, are the grades and widths.

The initial announcement of the gold mineralisation at BAM East was certainly a head turner: 40.75 metres at 1.82 grams per tonne gold, with two higher grade sections of 2.25 metres at 10.28 grams per tonne and 3 metres at 5.74 grams.

When drilling resumed later in the summer, Landore then hit 38.5 metres at 3.42 grams per tonne, with additional higher grade intercepts.

By early September the company was reporting multiple instances of visible gold and more lengthy intercepts as the outcome of the summer campaign.

Drilling in 2017 has also provided encouragement.

Meanwhile, field exploration on Junior Lake is set to commence on 3 August, concentrating on the Archaean greenstone belt that traverses the property from east to west over 19 kilometres and which hosts the BAM East gold deposit.

Simple process

“It’s such a simple occurrence. This will be very easy to fast-track, because we’ve done all the work we need to move forward for the nickel lease.

"We’ve got permits to construct and we’ve got very supportive First Nations. We’ve done water studies, we’ve done wildlife, fishing – all of those.”

Recent news seems to back up his confidence.

Metallurgical testwork showed combined gold recovery by gravity concentration followed by cyanidation leach extraction of the gravity tail averaged about 98%.

Shore Capital said the results from preliminary metallurgical test work at the BAM East Gold prospect in Canada were “very positive”.

What’s more, when the nickel price finally does move off its current lows, the economies of scale will suddenly become plain for both projects.

One hole saw a width of 18.79m at 3.65 grams per tonne gold (g/t) with others showing 12.25 g/t gold and at 5.08 g/t over narrower intervals.

BAM East’s Central Zone has now been confirmed over 1,000 metres of strike length and remains open down dip, to the east and to the west along strike.

Drilling has also confirmed the BAM East Gold lithology over 2,550m of strike length along the highly prospective east-southeast to west-northwest trending MaxMin geophysical anomaly (MM-7).

Bill Humphries, chief executive, added that a review of all previously discovered gold occurrences along the 30km, east to west greenstone belt that crosses Landore's flagship Junior Lake and the neighbouring Lamaune Iron properties indicates similar geology to BAM East.

An extensive exploration and geophysics campaign will be carried out along this trend once the current drilling programme is complete.

So far, the Spring/Summer campaign has seen 9,920m drilled.

Humphries said this drilling campaign was steadily advancing the Inferred resource to Indicated Category together with extending the delineated resource to the east and west to 1,000 metres in length.

“Indications are that the BAM East Gold deposit has the potential for substantial growth.”

In a statement covering its 2016 results, the company said its work programme for 2017 would be aimed at expanding the existing resource, discovering further gold deposits along the Junior Lake Shear, progressing the BAM East gold project towards development and the initiation of a pre-feasibility study by the end of the year.

Drilling on the BAM East gold deposit recommenced on 1 April, with a total of 12,000 metres of drilling planned during this spring and summer.

One drill is currently focussed on further delineation of the deposit, with a second drill scheduled to commence exploration drilling along the highly prospective structural trend which hosts the BAM East Gold Deposit.

To date, 12 drill-holes have been completed in the Central Zone; initial results are encouraging and further results are pending, Landore said.

As the company is still in the exploration stage, the profit & loss numbers are not especially meaningful, but for the record, exploration costs rose last year to £1.13mln from £859,302 the year before.

The increase was largely responsible for a deepening of the loss to £1.72mln from £1.54mln.

Cash and cash equivalents at the end of the year stood at £148,532, compared to £368,475 at the end of 2015.

In a note to clients, Shore Capital analysts, Yuen Low said: “A very quick skim of the 2016 results revealed no surprises of note.

“The financials were essentially academic, having been overtaken by post-period events – notably, £2.1m has been raised in 2017 so far.

“However, this means that the company still needs to raise c.£1.0m to fund on-going operations this year, and a further £0.24m for administrative expenses in H1 2017.”

In late morning trading, Landore shares were 0.2p lower at 2.85p.

Exploration on the inferred section contained multiple instances of visible gold in the drill-core, the compnay said.

The BAM East deposit has now been confirmed over 700 metres of strike length and remains open down dip, to the east and to the west along strike, Landore said.

Originally drilling at Junior Lake focused on nickel but high grade discoveries last year at BAM East has seen Landore change tack and look for gold with the intention of upgrading the existing inferred resource.

Assays for four holes out of a total of twelve drilled so far have come back. The summer programme will total 12,000m with 3,300m completed.

Best of the grades were high grade sections of 12.45 g/t over 0.7m at a depth of 180m and 10.15 g/t over 0.5m at 230m down. Over greater widths, Landore reported 1.39 g.t over 27.6m and 1.09 g/t over 21.5m.

Shares rose 11% to 3.38p.

The work started on April 1 and 12,000 metres are planned this spring and summer.

One rig is focused on further delineation, with a second scheduled to start exploration along the highly prospective structural trend which hosts the deposit.

One hole, for 282 metres, was completed in the Central Zone revealing the same lithology's hosting the gold mineralisation.

In February, Landore announced a 301,000 ounce maiden gold resource for BAM East after a lightning quick discovery process and series of drill campaigns.

On April 4, the firm was presented with the "Bernie Schneiders Discovery of the Year Award" by the Northwestern Ontario prospectors association.

Chief executive Bill Humphries said the province contained several of the world's larger gold producing mining camps including Red Lake and Pickle Lake.

<![CDATA[News - Landore raises £2mln through subscription ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/174190/landore-raises-2mln-through-subscription-174190.html Landore Resources Ltd. (LON:LND) has raised £2mln through a share subscription which it will use to further develop its BAM East gold deposit in Ontario.

The metals explorer issued 74.1mln shares at 2.9p each, a less than 7.5% discount to yesterday’s closing price.

Specifically, the cash influx will go towards financing further drilling and exploration at BAM East, as well as to top up the company’s coffers.

The fundraise was smaller than the £3mln to £4.5mln Landore had initially said it was going to raise when it announced a 301,000oz maiden gold resource for BAM, last month.

After talks with existing and potential shareholders, the company concluded that a smaller raise at the current time would best maximise value for all concerned.

Chief executive Bill Humphries, finance director Richard Prickett and non-exec Helen Green all took part in the subscription as well.

Shares closed at 2.9p on Thursday.

The resource has been verified by well-known mining industry consultants Roscoe Postle Associates and follows on from a lightning-quick discovery process and series of drill campaigns.

Back in the autumn of 2015, Landore drilled eight holes for a total of 2,223 metres. Two of the eight drill holes were drilled to test a geophysical target located two kilometres to the east of the company’s existing B4-7 nickel deposit.

The drilling intersected a wide zone of gold mineralization close to surface that was dubbed the BAM East gold deposit.

Landore subsequently carried out follow-up drilling programs in February 2016, in August 2016, and in October 2016. These drilling programs expanded the limits of the gold mineralization along the down-plunge direction.

In addition, the drilling programs have confirmed the presence of the mineralized controlling structure along a total strike length of approximately 2,000 metres by widely spaced drill holes.

<![CDATA[News - Landore Resources hails results at BAM East ]]> http://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/172001/landore-resources-hails-results-at-bam-east-172001.html Landore Resources Ltd (LON:LND) hailed the results of metallurgical testing on samples taken from its BAM East gold prospect at Junior Lake, Ontario.

Drill core material, in the form of two composites of 28 samples weighing a total of 67 kilograms, was submitted for analysis.

Combined gold recovery by gravity concentration followed by cyanidation leach extraction of the gravity tail averaged about 98% for both composites tested, Landore said.

Adding more detail on the potential for gravity recovery, the company said feed gold recovery to the pan concentrate ranged between 58% and 59% for composite 1 and composite 2.

Between 0.02% and 0.03% of the feed mass was recovered to the pan concentrates grading between 3,687 and 6,977 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

The total weight of composite 1 was around 15 kilograms (kg). There was no recorded visible gold and the highest grade was 6.38 g/t gold.

The total weight of composite 2 was around 52 kilograms. There were six recorded sightings of visible gold and the highest grade was 17.35 g/t over one metre.

The full report with results has been posted on Landore's web site.

Landore said further extensive metallurgical testing for inclusion in the pre-feasibility study is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of this year.

"These outstanding results, showing 98% recovery of gold using a simple combined gravity/leaching process, further supports our expectations that the exciting BAM East Gold deposit has the strong potential of low capex/opex costs amongst the lowest quartile of gold mining producers,” said Bill Humphries.

Shore Capital said the results from preliminary metallurgical test work at the BAM East Gold prospect in Canada were “very positive”.

“It appears that simple gravity concentration followed by cyanidation leaching of the gravity tails is able to yield combined gold recoveries of c.98%,” noted Shore’s Yuen Low.

“We look forward to further tests to determine whether similar recoveries can be achieved at higher grind sizes,” Low added.

Shares in Landore were up 5.9% at 3.52p towards the end of the day.

The company released a progress report on its now completed autumn drilling campaign at the prospect on Thursday, revealing that results continue to report wide zones of gold mineralisation.

Read Landore restarts drilling with a view to delivering a resource at BAM by January

The team has found high grade intersections with drill-hole 0416-555 reporting 18.27 metres (m) at 3.69 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 2.00m at 21.49 g/t gold, and drill-hole 0416-557 reporting 30.00m at 2.27 g/t gold including 5.00m at 4.17 g/t.

The central zone of the BAM East Gold Prospect has now been extended to more than 800 metres of strike length.

The zone remains open down dip and to the east and west along strike, Landore said.

The company said all results from the 15-hole drilling programme will now be submitted for inclusion towards the maiden resource and technical report, which is due for release in the first quarter of this year.

"Since Landore's discovery of the BAM East Gold Prospect in late 2015 drilling has successfully delineated a significant gold occurrence in the Central Zone, over 800 metres in length and 250+ metres down dip, together with identifying other highly prospective gold occurrences with similar lithology along a potential 2.7 kilometre strike length,” said Bill Humphries, chief executive officer of Landore.

Planning has commenced for a winter/spring drill programme in the first and second quarters of this year along 400 metres to the west of line 2450E in the Ladle Flats, which Landore believes is likely to contain the near-surface extension of the Central Zone.

The company plans to do further drilling to test down-dip and East-West strike extension.

From June of 2016 the company’s shares have steadily risen in value, from around 2p in June to just under 3p now.

That’s perhaps not as spectacular a rise as some companies have enjoyed as commodities prices have come back in recent months, but it is a true reflection of the methodical approach the company is taking at its BAM East gold project in Canada, which is now shaping up into a major gold discovery.

The latest drilling has intersected widespread gold mineralisation near to surface very close to where previous drilling showed significant intercepts both in terms of grades and width.

BAM East is now known to extend along a strike length of 700 metres and remains open to strike, to the east and to the west and down dip.

Among the highlights from the most recent drilling were two metres at 12 grams of gold per tonne and one meter at 8.87 grams.

More results are pending, both from further drill holes and from ongoing metallurgical studies. A resource estimate is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of next year.

He’s talking about the BAM East gold prospect at the company’s long-held Junior Lake property in Ontario.

Landore has been on the ground at Junior Lake for many years now and along the way has proved up nickel mineralisation in serious quantities at two separate deposits, B4-7 and the VW.

But the story of the discovery of the gold mineralisation at BAM East, just 2,000 metres to the east of B4-7 is the stuff of mining fairy tale.

At the end of last year, with the worst mining bear market in recent memory still wreaking havoc on junior miners, and with the nickel price especially hard hit, Landore getting ready to give up on the drill bit altogether, or at least for the foreseeable future.

At that stage it was one of only two junior miners still doing any drilling work at all in Ontario which, considering Ontario is one of the great mining jurisdictions in the world is quite something to consider.

But, with the nickel drilling wrapping up before Christmas, there was time for one last hole. And this one hit something different, and wholly unexpected – gold, in significant quantities.

Anyone curious about the significance of this last and apparently final drill hit need only take a look at Landore’s share price performance since then.

Late in January Landore hit a 10-year low of 0.51p. There was a little bit of upward drift through February and March as the mining markets in general showed renewed signs of life, but then in early April the shares suddenly leapt to just under 2p. That was when the company put out its first significant notification on the potential of BAM East.

Several more have followed as, needless to say, drilling wasn’t halted after all. The shares are now at 3.3p, up more than six times since that January low, and although there’s a lot of retail on the register now, there could be more to come.

Bill Humphries is under no illusions as to the significance of the discovery at BAM East. It’s not just his own long-years of experience in the mining industry, and in particular as one of the founders of Brancote Resources, the Aim market’s first great mining success stories.

Winter drilling is just getting underway now, and already the project has advanced to the stage where Humphries is talking about putting out a resource in January.

“At that point I’m confident we will be in a position to do a pre-feasibility study,” he says.

“It’s such a simple occurrence. This will be very easy to fast-track, because we’ve done all the work we need to move forward for the nickel lease. We’ve got permits to construct and we’ve got very supportive First Nations. We’ve done water studies, we’ve done wildlife, fishing – all of those.”

What’s more, when the nickel price finally does move off its current 25-year lows, the economies of scale will suddenly become plain for both projects.

“It’s the same sort of system,” says Humphries. “The crushing and milling side of things will be the same. And we’ll move on the nickel the moment the price moves up, and it doesn’t have to move up that far.”

No doubt about it though, the gold has been transformational for Junior Lake, and for Landore.

There’s a dearth of new gold projects out there and still plenty of mid-tiers and majors looking to replenish reserves. It doesn’t take a complicated analyst’s model to join up those dots.

The work will comprise 17 diamond drill holes to expand the newly defined central zone down-dip and along strike and to test prospective targets along the remaining 2.7 km MM-7 geophysical trend.

Significantly, the first two holes completed hit the same lithology as the higher holes with visible gold sighted.

Work shows the central zone plunging to the west with the width and gold content improving at depth, the firm said.

Meanwhile, sampling 700 metres to the west and along trend to the central zone, has intersected the same lithology with gold mineralisation up to 0.66 grams per tonne (g/t).

In April this year, Landore confirmed the zone as a "significant discovery"

It has said the style of mineralisation has many corollaries with similar commercial gold deposits in the Canadian Shield, such as Kirkland Lake, Hollinger-McIntyre, Kerr-Adison and Sigma-Lamarque.

Landore chief executive Bill Humphries said: "The BAM East Gold Prospect is rapidly developing into a significant new gold discovery for Landore Resources, enjoying very low discovery costs per ounce, favourable mineralogy potentially providing a simple processing path with maximum recoveries and low capex/opex costs."

Shares gained over 6% to stand at 3.525p.

(LON:LND) to reduce its losses in the first six months of 2016.

The Guernsey-based firm posted a loss of £733,000, down from £1.2mln a year earlier – results which Landore said were “in line with expectations”.

It attributed the improved financials to “substantial savings”, with administrative expenses falling to £508,000 (H1 2015: £716,000) and exploration costs almost halving to £250,000 (H1 2015: £467,000).

The company’s efforts in the first half were almost entirely focused on the BAM East Gold prospect at its Junior Lake property in Ontario, Canada.

Back in March, drilling had intersected a “significant new gold zone” and the company expects a follow-up drilling programme to begin over the next week or two to gather material for metallurgical testing.

As for lithium, Landore sold its Root Lake project during the period for £117,500, while it said it is “currently reviewing” its other lithium prospects at Junior Lake.

Shares were down 1% to 3.9p.

The latest drilling extended the prospect for 500 metres along strike and to a depth of 150 metres, and latest finds show wide zones of near surface mineralisation.

The prospect remains open along strike to the east and west and down dip.

One hole reported 56.86 metres (m) at 1.60 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including 4 metres at 5.17g/t gold.

Another highlight was a 42 metre interval with 2.55 g/t of the yellow metal, including 1 metre at 27.80 g/t gold.

Landore is now planning a follow-up drilling programme, scheduled to begin in early October, to extend the new gold zone down dip and along strike to the east and west and to obtain material for metallurgical testing.

Consultant RPA of Toronto has been retained to produce and initial resource estimate for the site.

In April this year, Landore confirmed the zone as a "significant discovery"

In particular, one drill hole hit 53.5 metres at 1.38 grams per tonne gold, including 9 metres at 4.74 grams and one metre at just over 30 grams.

Perhaps even more significantly, 20 of the 28 holes drilled so far have yielded visible gold.

Typically, gold in modern drill core is only visible through a microscope, so to have gold showings of up to 2 millimetre in length visible to the naked eye, as Landore has in its latest BAM core is quite something.

Certainly, it means that the grade is likely to hold up well, when newly appointed consultants RPA Inc of Toronto come to wrap a resource number around BAM in the coming months.

And given the nearness to surface of these intercepts, it also means that even at this early stage Landore is justified in beginning to conceive of the project as a low-cost bulk tonnage open-pit operation.

Visible gold is usually quite straightforward to extract from its surrounding ore, so initial recoveries would likely be high, all tending towards the assembly of a robust economic model for BAM.

But it’s early days yet. The drill rigs are set to start turning again in October, and we’ll know more after the results from that campaign are in.

The next round of drilling will commence with large-diameter holes to allow the company to recover larger samples for metallurgical testing.

Following on from that, drilling to test for mineralisation will continue to the east, west, and down-dip.

It will be particularly interesting to get a clearer idea of the extent of the mineralisation at BAM, because it is situated right in the middle of a highly prospective 2.7 kilometre geophysical anomaly.

At the western end of this anomaly lies the original BAM discovery zone, first investigated by Landore back in 2003.

The new zone current comprises 500 metres of consistent lithology along strike and up to 150 metres down dip. If that can be extended by the next round of drilling, then it will become apparent that Landore really is onto something interesting here.

But there could be more good news ahead of that, though. Results from the final 10 holes that Landore drilled over the summer are still pending, and could well deliver another round of attractive intercepts.

And with the gold price still strong at over US$1,340, what better time to be delivering good news drilling results into the market?
