Press: 15.11.11: -2.88, (7.75) Press: Europa Oil & Gas and Aurelian fell after it was revealed that shale found in Horodnic-1 in Romania, their joint venture well, was likely to be uncommercial. Aurelian Oil & Gas said its share of the well would cost GBP840,000.Oriel Securities kept a ?buy? rating on Aurelian, noting that testing was due to be completed by early 2012 on the Krzesinki and Bieszcady exploration wells in Poland. Europa Oil & Gas has appointed Hugh Mackay as chief executive officer with effect from 10 October. Mackay was more recently founding chairman of Avannaa Resources, a mineral exploration company focussed on grass roots exploration in Greenland. Mackay has a wealth of experience in the oil and gas sector, including eight years at BP in a variety of roles in the UK, the Oman and Egypt, ten at Enterprise Oil in leadership roles, culminating as head of the SE Asia division. He played a pivotal role in the development of the Peak Group and its eventual sale to AGR Petroleum Services where he was Group Business Development Manager.

announces that Bill Adamson OBE, 61 has joined the company as non executive Chairman with effect from Wednesday. MAIN FACTS: -Adamson has been granted 250,000 options over ordinary shares in the Company. -All the options have an exercise price of 14 pence and a 10 year life. -One third of the options are exercisable after 18 months, a further third after 30 months and the balance after 42 months. -Adamson is entitled to a further 250,000 options to be granted in the fourth quarter of 2011 at the market price at the date of issue.

Seymour Pierce has downgraded Cairn Energy PLC to ?sell? from ?underperform? and upgraded Europa Oil & Gas PLC to ?buy? from ?hold?. In a note published this morning, Seymour Pierce said Cairn Energy has moved higher on rumours ENI is preparing to bid 4,000 pence per share for the company. The broker added, like so many of these rumours in the market, they should be heavily discounted. Seymour Pierce said Cairn Energy shares look fully extended and have an asset value of 2,238 pence per share. It sees no reason that it should stand higher than its net asset value. Elsewhere, Seymour Pierce said the outlook for Europa Oil & Gas is bright. The broker added the company has worked hard to increase production from mature onshore oil fields in the UK and this, coupled with increasing oil prices, has allowed it to benefit from rising cash flows.
