Amid increasing uncertainty over US and Eurozone debt the price of gold continues to set new record highs. Yet gold stocks have been underperforming bullion markedly and Merrill Lynch analysts believe there is now a “compelling” investment case in favour of gold equities, including the likes of Petropavlovsk (LON:POG), African Barrick Gold (LON:ABG) and Centamin (LON:CEY).
