16.11.10 :-0.25, (35.75) Advanced Computer Software Group PLC is well-placed to benefit from a cost-efficiency drive in the National Health Service, which will drive demand for its mobile software, the company?s chief executive said. The company is experiencing greatly increased interest in its iNurse and iConnect applications, which allow healthcare workers such as district nurses to manage their rosters, schedule appointments, and access patient information on mobile devices. "This time last year we had interest in iNurse, but no urgency," CEO Vin Murria told Dow Jones Newswires. The new government and its comprehensive spending review have provided a renewed emphasis on cost reduction in the health service, with health authorities looking to cut down on mountains of paperwork, she said. The two mobile applications now have 4,450 users, with a further 4,250 under negotiation, up from 600 users a year earlier. Murria said the company is targeting a market of 465,000 community nurses and other health workers, and hopes to provide each one with its mobile software. This would provide a boost of up to GBP60 million in annual revenue within the next few years, she said.

Advanced Computer Software PLC, a software and information technology services provider to the primary healthcare sector, intends to make further acquisitions and increase revenue in the next 12 months, as it expects more demand for its cost-efficient services following government budget cuts. Speaking to Dow Jones Newswires Chief Executive Vin Murria said: 08.06.10 :-1.25, (37) Advanced Computer Software PLC, a software and information technology services provider to the primary healthcare sector, intends to make further acquisitions and increase revenue in the next 12 months, as it expects more demand for its cost-efficient services following government budget cuts. Speaking to Dow Jones Newswires Chief Executive Vin Murria said: "We have the cash generation and financial flexibility to go ahead with further acquisitions; right now we can handle anything between GBP5 million and GBP40 million," Murria said, adding that any deal will be financed by a mixture of cash, debt and equity. At the fiscal year end the company had cash and cash equivalents of GBP10.28 million, and net debt of GBP41 million. The new government?s budget is an opportunity for the company to win more business as public sector presents a "significant" growth driver for the company, Murria said. "We now serve 344 of the 392 NHS [National Health Service] Trusts, taking this into consideration and looking at the annual cost of staffing nurses our business has the potential to make up to GBP1.2 billion in annualized savings for these public institutions." Murria added that the company had no immediate plans for a dividend payment and would channel cash into the business. "We?ll only consider a dividend when we run out of things to buy," she said. The company earlier Tuesday posted a higher pretax profit of GBP4.2 million for the fiscal year ended Feb. 28 compared with GBP1.1 million a year earlier. Revenue rose to GBP30.2 million compared with GBP7.3 million after a series of acquisitions. At the year-end the company?s forward order book stood at GBP27.3 million.
